Gorjuss card update

A little unusual to show the inside of yesterday's Sugar Bowl entry on a separate post I know, but I wanted to post to cheer myself up and didn't want there to be no pictures LOL! It has been a bad day for me today. We are having a large extension built and it involves a lot of knocking walls down in the existing house. Today one of my bedroom walls has been knocked out which means I am having to lose my gorgeous Cheri Blum wallpaper which I adore so much I nearly didn't have the extension done just to keep it:(. I am currently living in a house of rubble and dust sheets. If anyone knows where you can get discontinued wallpaper from PLEASE message me! I have cheered up a little with some crafting this evening but I can't show you yet as it is DT work. Anyway, back to the card. I used the same papers as the front (see below) from the Basic Grey Euphoria collection and some purple coredinations cardstock.

There is a money pocket behind Bumble Bee (isn't she cute, I think she's now my favourite GG). The flowers are again done with my EK success retro flower punches.

The sentiment has been written with my calligraphy pen. Thanks for looking! x

Sugar Bowl challenge

Phew! just managed to get this one done by the skin of my teeth for the Sugar Bowl challenge! My Gorjuss Bumble Bee was delivered yesterday, I think she is the cutest by far of the new set, love her so much! This is the last of my commissions so again has a name on. The challenge is a lovely sketch by Gayle and the requirement to use bows and/or ribbons.

I've coloured her with copics and added some luster rub on to the skirt of her dress and some clear glitter glue to her wings.

The flowers I have punched with EK Success retro flower punches and added some gorgeous red paper roses to the middles. I love red with purple, think it looks gorgeous! The wire twirl is the end of one of the roses. I have written the sentiment with my calligraphy pen and then clear embossed the tag and added a gem.
I have added a row of gems to the purple strip of card for some glamour!
Another angle just because I love playing with my new camera LOL! I still need to do the inside...yet another money pocket to do! but wanted to get this posted for the challenge! Hope you like it! x

Whiff of Joy challenge - Floral

Morning! It's Wednesday and that means it's time for another challenge on the Whiff of Joy challenge blog, and this week we have a theme for you, it is floral. I needed to make a wedding card for my neighbour so this fitted nicely with this challenge! I managed to force myself to use this gorgeous K&Co paper...ouch LOL! I used the gorgeous carriage stamp, it is so beautiful isn't it, just love it! The edges have been distressed with antique linen distress ink.

I made one of my paper roses and decided to spray it with some pearlescent glue mixed with water (read somewhere this was a bit like glimmer mist). Not really happy with the result but I'm having a nightmare week with the building work we're having done and just didn't have time to make another rose unfortunately. It is actually very shiney but isn't showing on the photo, but it has made the lovely handmade paper I make them from really stiff so spoils the rose I think. I also added some Prima hydrangeas and the leaves are from MS branch punch.

From one of the flowers I have hung two coordinating ribbons and this gorgeous heart charm.

I added some luster rub on to her viel and around the edges of the image and some clear glitter glue to her tiara.

The inside is decorated with the same papers as the front, the gorgeous pink paper around the image is the reverse of the floral paper.

I coloured part of the image for the heart and added some of the hearts from the Whiff of Joy spring swirls kit stamped with antique linen distress ink.

The sentiment I have written with my calligraphy pen and the lace is carried through from the front design also, although it is mostly covered by the image on the front! Pop and have a look at the rest of the design team's creations they're truly stunning. Hope you can join us. x

Just Magnolia and Roses on Paper challenges

There's a gorgeous sketch on the Just Magnolia challenge this week I loved working with it so much, thank you! I've also managed to combine it with the challenge at Roses on Paper which is to use hearts as I've hung a gorgeous heart charm from the bow. This is another commissioned card, hence the name in the sentiment! I'm getting a few commissions now which makes me feel extremely proud and makes it all worthwhile.

I used another of the gorgeous summer kit images I was sent, how cute is this one, I so wish I'd ordered this kit now as there aren't any I don't like and I'm going to have such a hard job deciding which to get. I have added some faux stitching all over with my white gel pen. The sentiment I have written with my trusty calligraphy pen and I have added some pearl luster rub on over the top.

The gorgeous heart charm is another from the Hobby House, it is so intricate, just love it. I will have to up date this post later with the inside as I have to colour another image as the lady would like a money pocket inside. Thanks for looking! x

Edit! Here is the inside, I decided I didn't want to use another of my precious images of this cutie (I don't actually have the stamp) LOL, so decided to stamp the Magnolia new year swirl in green and add a couple of the flowers from the summer kit instead. The quarter circle is a money pocket, I have punched flowers with my EK success flower punch and cut them up to make the scalloped edge.

Whiff of Joy Anniversary Blog Hop

Welcome to the Anniversary Blog Hop sponsored by Whiff of Joy Stamps! If you've just happened upon my blog, you can CLICK HERE to start from the beginning at Katharina’s Blog.
I have made a whole birthday gift set with this cheeky little monkey stamp, isn't he cute! There is a card, ruk sak gift bag, bookmark, clipboard and badge.

Here is the card, I wanted to create a jungle theme. The leaves have been punched with a woodware punch. All the papers are K&Co and have been distressed with peeled paint distress ink.

I added a swinging vine made from some twine and the dragonflys are charms that I've snipped the rings off.

I have carried my sketch through to the inside and written the sentiment with my calligraphy pen.

A close up of the bookmark.....

and clipboard.....

and the ruk sak gift bag with badge. The ruk sak has been made to the tutorial I found here but I have made straps from paper and have added some stitching to the straps and pockets to make it look more realistic. I have stamped the monkey stamp all over the green card with peeled paint distress ink.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Now it's time to hop on over to Shaz. Have a great day!

Just Magnolia Too challenge - brown paper bag

Over at Just Magnolia Too they have a challenge to decorate a brown paper bag. The DT's creations are absolutely stunning and definitely inspired me to have a go, thanks ladies! It was the perfect thing to do for my Brother's birthday card as he wants a gift voucher which will fit nicely in the bag!

I didn't get the Magnolia summer kit...(what a mistake!) but the lovely Mina kindly sent me some images, thank you so much Mina! Just as well as I don't really have anything suitable for an adult male card. I have given the card a holiday photo album feel by making the breakwater image look like a photo. It is coloured with copics and the sky and sand are distress inks. I have added some gems into swirl shapes. The Happy Birthday sentiment is a papermania stamp I've stamped onto a jeanswear label I've recycled!

I've carried the album theme onto the inside, this time a "snapshot" of the rubber ring from the Magnolia summer kit. The disc with 35 on I have cut from the card backing of my Son's colouring pad, it's really thick card so looks really chunky. I've distressed it with brushed cordoruy distress ink and written the 35 and added the dots with a dark brown copic.

I have written the birthday poem with my calligraphy pen.

I loved the way Tab had decorated the back of her bag so I have added this cute little stamp from Sugar Nellie as my Brother has a little border collie whom he adores. I've tried to colour it to look like her LOL!

I've made a little bag from brown paper to tuck inside the bag card so that I can put his gift voucher inside it. I have left lots of space for a personal message here!

Thanks for looking! Enjoy your day! x

Whiff of Joy challenge - Donalda's sketch

This week we have a gorgeous sketch for you designed by our very talented Donalda. I loved working with this sketch, thank you Donalda! There are so many fantastic elements to this sketch.

For the part circle I stamped my Stempelglede grunge circle stamp and clear embossed it before rubbing the whole thing with luster rub ons.

I have coloured Melinda with copics and added clear glitter glue to her wings. I have then cut her out and mounted her onto card but haven't glued her wings down so that they rise from the card. I have added one of my favourite curled wire embellishments to frame the image.

Appart from the gorgeous Christmas paper I still haven't got around to buying any Christmasy stash so I decided to have a go at making some poinsettia style flowers. I'm really pleased with how these have turned out. I made them from coredinations card stock, veined and shaped them and added red stickles. The holly underneath is also made from coredinations cardstock which I have clear embossed to give them a shine like holly leaves.

For the diagonal element I have written the carol "Angels from the Realms of Glory" with my calligraphy pen, distressed the papers and rolled the ends to form a scroll.

The inside is decorated with a co-ordinating paper and some more poinsettias and holly. The sentiment I have written with my calligraphy pen.

All of the papers have been distressed with antique linen and brushed courdory distress inks. I hope you'll join us for this weeks challenge and pop over to the Whiff of Joy challenge blog to see the rest of the DT's stunning creations! x
