Magnolia Down Under Challenges DT - Happy 6th Birthday and a Goodbye!

Good evening!  It is our 6th birthday over at Magnolia Down Under Challenges and to celebrate this exciting occasion our challenge is 'Birthdays'.  I personally haven't been with the challenge for the whole 6 years but some of the girls have which is an awesome achievement!  It is also extremely hard work to run a challenge blog, much harder than people reallise, and so the time has come for our challenge to close.  Yes, that's right, our 6th birthday challenge will be our final challenge.  I have made so many wonderful, true friends through Magnolia Down Under Challenges and it has been a part of my life for so long now I think I'll make a card by mistake in a fortnight's time!  This has been such a tough decision for Karen and Kylie who have run the challenge since Debbie left and I know they have thought about it long and hard.  I know from first hand experience how much time running a challenge takes up so I know where they are coming from!  I would like to just say to my DT sisters past and present that I love you all (as you know) and thank you for having me along for the ride all these years!  OK....sad part over...I think I can safely say that we all love pink at Magnolia Down Under so that had to be my choice for our birthday card.
I masked together three Tildas who all have balloons to create a fun party scene.  Oops!  Looks like someone's balloon has too much air in at the back there lol!  I have painted the scene with Distress Ink Pads.
I have added Glossy Accents to all of the balloons for a realistic look.
Tilda on the left has had her outfit covered in Stickles...
...and Tilda on the right has little touches of Stickles on the lace and flowers of her outfit.
The charm is from my stash and the seam binding and pearl string are from The Ribbon Girl.
The number 6 is a Tim Holtz Grungeboard element painted with Gesso and then covered in Stickles.  The butterfly edging is a Joy Craft die.
The gorgeous pink tutu trim is also from The Ribbon Girl.  The flowers were punched with a Martha Stewart hydrangea punch and I added pearls to the centres.
I have also used the Doohickey Heart Swirl die from Magnolia.  The beautiful double row pearl trim is from The Ribbon Girl too.
I hope you like my card and I have inspired you to join us at Magnolia Down Under Challenges for one last time.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous birthday creations.  Thanks for looking! x

Deep Ocean Challenge DT

Firstly I would like to thank everyone for your kind words via comments and emails this past week, I have been truly touched how many people took the time to offer sweet words. To be honest, I'm still not feeling that great about it and still cannot seem to muster the desire to craft. Luckilly I had one of my cards for The Hobby House created that I could use for my DT card at the Deep Ocean Challenge else I'd still be missing today. Our challenge for this fortnight is simply cards - couldn't be easier! I have used the sketch from Stamp with Fun for my card.

How gorgeous is this Bildmalarna stamp?? I've coloured her with Prismacolor Pencils blended with Sansador and I added a touch of stickles to her dress and under her feet.

The Hobby House is now stocking German Glass Glitter in many gorgeous colours and I have added some to all the flowers on my card, which also come from The Hobby House. As always, it is difficult to capture the sparkle in a photo but this glitter is so gorgeous in real life! The poinsettia was created with a Marianne Creatables die from The Hobby House.

I added a bow from the gorgeous ribbon and another blossom sprinkled with glass glitter.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this fortnight at The Deep Ocean Challenge - pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous cards! Thanks for looking! x

Bildmalarna

Today I'd like to show you the last card in the little Bildmalarna collection I made for The Hobby House. I think this image is my favourite of the four - she is so adorable on her little tricycle!! The papers are by Prima and I have distressed the edges with walnut stain distress ink. Both the papers and stamp are available from The Hobby House.

I used one of my new nesties around the image mat and I have coloured the image with Prismacolor Pencils blended with Sansador. I've really happy with how this one turned out - my pencil colouring still seems to be a little hit and miss! I added a rhinestone to the buckle on her shoe!

I used one of my new nesties around the image mat and the gorgeous butterflies were cut from one of the sheets in the Prima pad. The rhinestones are from The Hobby House.

The cute wooden buttons and gorgeous striped ribbon are both from The Hobby House.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Bildmalarna

It's a strange day here for me today. My "little" Brother is getting married in Italy this evening and unfortunately it was not possible for me to go :(. It feels wierd, happy for him as it is his special day but incredibly sad that I can't share it and so I don't really know how to feel or what to do with myself today. I thought I'd post this cute Bildmalarna card as the message "sending Love" is what I'm doing in my heart to my Brother today. Anyway, a little about the card. This is another card from the collection I've created for The Hobby House. The papers are by Prima and I've distressed and stickled the edges. The border was punched with Martha Stewart's Heart Lace punch.

I have coloured the image with Prismacolor Pencils. The gorgeous brad and spacer to the right of the image are both from The Hobby House.

The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy and I have also used the gorgeous Magnolia heart swirl doohickey. The pins, flowers and ribbon are all from The Hobby House. Love the colours of these new pins.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Bildmalarna

I have another gorgeous Bildmalarna card to share with you today from the collection I've made for The Hobby House. The papers are by Prima and I've distressed the edges and added stickles.

I have coloured time image with Prismacolor Pencils blended with Sansador and inked around the edge of the image mat with crushed olive distress ink VERY lightly - I find that this particular colour is way to bright unless I use extreme caution LOL!!!

The ribbon, charm, flower and button are all from The Hobby House (the bow is threaded through the button).

More flowers from The Hobby House, all sprayed with pearl glimmer mist. The gorgeous rose leaves were cut with the Magnolia doohickey die.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

A Sweet Bildmalarna

I have a sweet Bildmalarna to show you today as part of a collection I have made for The Hobby House. I have used the sketch from Tuesday Morning Sketches for my card. The papers are by Prima and all the embellishments and the stamps are available from The Hobby House.

I have coloured the image with Prismacolor Pencils blended with Sansador. I'm really enjoying colouring with these pencils and am much happier with the results now!

As I said, all the embellishments, including the paper flowers are from The Hobby House. How sweet are those little metal flowers - I have added the rhinestone centres myself so you could make these to match any colour scheme! The pins are new in at The Hobby House in specially commissioned colour schemes and they really are all gorgeous!
The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps and the cute little button was originally plain wood but I gave it a coat of pickett fence crackle paint and inked it with walnut stain distress ink.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

A Book Box Card for Four challenges!!!

Woohoo!!! My Magnolia Sweet Rainbow stash arrived this morning!! I can't wait to colour up all the stamps I bought (oops far too many but they are all soooo cute!!!). Today I'd like to share with you a book box card I have made following the sketch at Sketch Saturday. I was lucky enough to win a couple of challenges last month and I've used one of the stamps I won on this card!! Isn't this Bildmalarna stamp gorgeous!?!? I was so thrilled to win her as I've seen these stamps around but didn't buy them as I never seem to find the time to use all my stamps!! She has already been on my desk three weeks bless her LOL! I love her sweet face - so beautiful! I have used some stunning papers too by Girl's Paperie from Oyster Stamps. I would also like to enter my card into the Spoonful of Sugar challenge who would like to see things with wings, Cupcake Crafts Challenge which is bookworm, and Bearly Mine challenge who want to see die cuts and lace.

At last I think I've cracked it with the Primsacolour Pencils!!! I am very pleased with my colouring with them on this image!!! I have finally found a combination for skin that I like (which was my main struggling point!). I really love how this turned out! I have added the customary stickles to her wings of course!

All the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and I added some butterflies punched from some of the paper with a Martha Stewart punch.

I have sewn and distressed all the edges of the papers and inked them with vintage photo distress ink. I also added a touch of vintage photo distress ink to the edges of the cream roses for more of a shabby look. The leaves were punched with a Woodware punch.

This is what the book box looks like when you open it up. Ooooh I think the paper I've made the pocket from is my favourite! OMG it is sooooo gorgeous! The lace and ribbon are from my stash and I used Martha Stewart Doiley Lace punch on the edges of the book "pages".

For the tag I used my new Magnolia doohickey - love this tag die so much already!! I love the fact it has a separate die for the inside section! This is the back of the tag, there is a white space on the other side for a message.

The book box has a ribbon tie closure.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

This book box will be for sale on Ebay later if anyone is interested!
