Simon Says Stamps Challenge DT - Mother's Day/Girly

It is time for another challenge at Simon Says Stamps Challenge and as always we are sponsored by Heidi who is generously offering a $50 credit voucher for the Simon Says Stamp store!!

Our challenge this week is Mother's Day/Girly - perfect with Mother's Day fast approaching (can't WAIT for my lie in LOL - I desparately need one!!!) The design team are all showcasing Basic Grey products this week so if you have any we'd love to see them but it is not essential to take part!

I have made another cupcake!! They are so addictive and I love making them!! I've had this idea in mind for a long while now of making the cupcake into a gift container rather than a gift card holder and this is what I came up with as a little extra gift for Kara's birthday. Of course it had to be pink - she is a pink girl!! I used the gorgeous Magnolia Starlit paper from the fairytale collection for the cupcake case and topped it with lashings of "buttercream" in the form of some very wide satin ribbon from my stash.

I added some gorgeous Prima Athena flowers and - my favourite, and some Prima e-line flowers, along with a few paper blooms from my stash.

Where's my Basic Grey products?? LOL, OK, they're really tiny but they are non-the-less by Basic Grey!! - it's the chocolate drops (buttons). I absolutely love Basic Grey buttons purely because of the really tiny cute ones you always get in them LOL!!! These particular ones are from the Curio set.

I only used half a ball for this cupcake so that I could create a place inside for a small gift - in this case I filled it with lots of yummy sweets (Kara got to them before I could take my photo - it holds a lot more than this LOL!)

Fat Free Cake Shop!

Mmmmm look away now if you're on a diet!!!! I am really busy with DT work at the moment and realised I didn't have anything to show you today when I suddenly remembered that I hadn't shown you something I made back in October!!! A set of six delicious cupcakes from paper and ribbon for a display at The Hobby House! You can almost smell them can't you LOL?



First up is this dilectible chocolate cupcake smothered in "chocolate sauce" and topped with a "flake"!


LOL when I made these I can't tell you how many times I had to let Kara hold them before she was convinced they weren't edible!! The chocolate sauce was created with some kind of paint that dries like rubber which you can stick to glass (I'm sorry I forget to make a note of the make etc) and the flake I fashioned from cardstock.


Or perhaps you'd prefer a scrumptious toffee and cream cupcake?? This one has layers of ruffled ribbon and lace with Prima e line flowers and blossoms!


Ooooh maybe you'd like a cherry on top of your cupcake? This gorgeous pink version makes me think of strawberries and cream!


The "frosting" was created with a thick pearlescent fast drying paint (again, sorry but I don't know the make) and the cherry is a red wooden bead coated in glossy accents for that glace cherry shine! Drooling yet?? I know I am whilst typing it LOL!


Mmmmm, another flake topped one!


This time with layers of "chocolate icing" ribbon, lace and some paper roses.


Again topped with "chocolate sauce" paint dribbling down the sides.

Next a strawberry and chocolate concoction with ruffles of "strawberry icing", a "chocolate cream" layer and oodles of "chocolate sauce" paint on top!

This one is topped with a white blossom and "chocolate" buttons in white and dark chocolate LOL.

Look how far that chocolate sauce has dripped!

Last but not least another cherry topped creation with lashings of "whipped cream" and studded with "chocolate drop" brads.

The papers for the blue cupcakes are by Paper Salon and the Pink spotty paper is
by MME. All the "ingredients" came from the Hobby House with exception of the blossoms, roses and red beads.

A dinky little card for Mojo Monday!

I have a dinky little 4" square gift card to show you that I've made for a collection at the Hobby House along with a scrumptious cupcake gift card holder. I'm entering the card into the Mojo Monday challenge as it is their fabby sketch I've used for the design! Shame about the dreadful photos - the light in our house is dreadful at the moment - this was taken right next to the patio doors at midday!! shocking!

Here's a close up of the card. The gorgeous papers are by Paper Salon from The Hobby House. I have used a sentiment from Whiff of Joy on the tag. The satin ribbon is also from The Hobby House.

For the cupcake base I used more of the Paper Salon paper and the satin ribbon as chocolate icing together with lots of blossoms and some ruffled lace. The cherry lifts out with a clip on for holding the gift card.
