Maja Design February Mood Board

Good morning!  It is a long time since I have shared a layout.  I have so many pictures building up that I want to turn into layouts.  When I saw Maja Design's February moodboard I new exactly which photo I wanted to use.  I love this photo of my children mimicking a scarecrow we found on a day out last year.  I have used papers from the Denim & Friends Collection.  I've used Paisley for the main paper and Summer Shirt for the accents.

I wanted to have a scarecrow theme throughout so I have torn the paper here and there and added the Summer Shirt paper and pieces of 'straw' like the stuffing is bursting out of the scarecrow.  My straw is actually paper ribbon torn into thinner strips.

Red accents pair beautifully with these papers.  I added a red Prima flower and resin heart by Webster's Pages.  The large flower I made myself from coffee filter paper and Magnolia Peony Doohickey dies.

I've had these straw and netting butterflies in my stash for around ten years!  Finally I found the perfect project to add them to.

There are peeps of the Summer Shirt paper peeping out from behind the photo too.

To the left of the photo I added lots of embellishments in all of the theme colours.  The cute birdhouse is by Scrapiniec.

Favourite Place

Good morning!  Today I am sharing the last of the many layouts I made during the Easter holidays.  I've used gorgeous papers from Maja Design's Nyhavn Collection once again.  I think I only have two or three papers left from the collection as I have enjoyed using them so much!

 I have added clusters of flowers from my stash to form a diagonal across the layout.  Behind I have stamped a chicken wire design with a Magnolia stamp.  The gorgeous glass bead featuring a butterfly was a gift from a friend.  The bark star is from The Ribbon Girl and the journal words are from Tim Holtz.

 I have used the same flowers at the top of the layout and added a cameo to one from The Ribbon Girl.

 The diamante heart and ribbon I recycled from a birthday card.

 I have added touches of cheesecloth peeping out from the blue paper frame and created the wire 'favourite' myself.

My Mini Me

 Good morning!  Today's layout was one of those that came together so easily because the Blue Fern Studios paper matched the colours in my photograph so perfectly!  I fussy cut around the bird and rose on the paper so that I could slot my photograph underneath and not hide the gorgeous details of the paper.  The green paper peeping from behind the photograph is the reverse side of the paper.

 I added a little ticket from a Tim Holtz paper pad with blue tits on it which I've crumpled and distressed the edges of.  The leaves were cut from the paper beneath the photograph.  All of the flowers and the butterfly are from Prima.  I have had the flowers for years but the butterflies were from The Ribbon Girl.

 Here's a close up of the gorgeous ticket.  I love blue tits, they're one of my favourite birds.

Happiness

 Good morning!  I hope you're enjoying a restful Sunday.  I have another layout to share today.  I've had such a relaxing time creating so many layouts this Easter holiday.  Our mission this Easter holiday was to get my little girl off stabilisers so she could ride her birthday present: a gorgeous sugar pink bike that looks like a mini version of Mums :).  She managed it in just two outings!  A magnificent achievement as she has been so terrified of this.  Of course, I had to create a layout to memorise this monumental occasion.  The background paper is from Websters pages.

 I've teamed it with a Tim Holtz pink paper to match the bike.  I've added die cut spots of white card as the chain guard on her bike has white polka dots on it - so cute!

 The pink flower is from my stash and the yellow hydrangeas are Prima.  The daisy lace was recycled off one of my daughters dresses that she has grown out of.

 The rolled rose is from The Ribbon Girl and again the hydrangea is from Prima.

 The ruffle trim is from Webster's Pages and the gorgeous lace butterfly is from The Ribbon Girl too.

 The journal card is from Webster's Pages too and I have added a little journalling tag behind it cut with a Doohickey die.

 The beautiful white and pink flower is from The Ribbon Girl too and the 'Believe in yourself' sticker is also Webster's Pages.

 I mounted the Webster's Pages cameo onto a cute fabric tag from my stash.

As I Was Going to St Ives...

...I met a man with seven wives.  Lol, I love that riddle and had to say it over and over when we were in St Ives last year.  Wasn't very annoying, honest lol!  Remember how I said the Nyhavn papers from Maja Design were perfect for my holiday photos?  Well the paper with all the little houses on was one of the main selling points for me.  The little brightly coloured houses reminded me of St Ives so much!  The photo was taken there so I've tried to create a mini St Ives style backdrop of houses rising up the hill from the harbour.

 The sentiment is from Tim Holtz and the little bell was recycled from a chocolate reindeer at Christmas.

 The large flowers are from Prima and the sweet little blossoms and button twine are from The Ribbon Girl.

 The cheesecloth is also from The Ribbon Girl.

 A peak of the little houses.  I've mounted the foreground houses onto foam pads for extra dimension.

 The trim is from my stash and the gorgeous dewdrops that I've scattered across the layout are from The Ribbon Girl.

 The doily was cut with a Prima die from kraft cardstock.  I've added touches of gold leaf to it here and there.

Holiday Layout

 
Good morning!  I have another layout to share today using the gorgeous Nyhavn papers from Maja Design.  As soon as I saw these papers I knew I wanted to scrap some of last year's holiday photos with them.  The colours and designs are perfect for the photos!  I love this photo of my little girl on a boat ride.  I've layered up two of the Nyhavn papers for this layout and kept the rest very simple.  The photo seems to suite simple to me.

I created a water splashing effect using Gesso and Prima splatter stamps.  The cheesecloth is from The Ribbon Girl and the bark hearts are from Live & Love Crafts.

 The journal stamp is from Tim Holtz.

A Clean and Simple Layout

 Good morning!  Today I'd like to share a layout I have created to showcase my son celebrating his Easter archery win.  We are both keen archers and it was an incredible achievement for him to shoot the tiny golden egg and win the star prize - we couldn't even see the egg from the distance we were shooting lol!  Of course I had to create an archery target face for the background using appropriately coloured papers.  The yellow paper in the centre is from Webster's Pages, the red and black papers are from MME and the blue paper is from Tim Holtz.

 After all that hard work creating the backing paper I wanted to keep it visible so have kept the rest of the layout very simple.  The photo is mounted onto white cardstock and then I've attached the arrow punctured egg next to it.

 I did a lot of doodling on this layout.  All of the stitching and loose threads are doodled with a fine black pen.

 The sentiment was created with Webster's Pages alphabet stickers.  I had to create my own exclamation mark from an 'f' though lol.

 The journalling lettering is also Webster's Pages lettering and I also added the date with a white gel pen.

 The paint splatters were all created with Prima stamps - my favourite new purchase because I've never had much luck with actual paint splattering on my layouts!
