Hello, Magnolia Friends! In anticipation of Easter we at Magnolia-licious are celebrating with a Project only “no cards” Blog Hop Challenge! Our theme for the Hop is…"Easter". If you have arrived here from my talented friend
then you're on the right track. If not, and you would like to start the hop from the beginning, then hop back to the Magnolia-licious Challenge Blog to start. I have decorated a paper mache Easter Egg from Panduro Hobby. I began by giving the outside of the egg three coats of Gesso. I have then added cheesecloth, feather, cocoa label and tied it with twine.
The cocoa label was created with an older Magnolia stamp on coffee filter paper. I have aged the edges with Walnut Stain Distress Ink and crumpled the paper for an aged look.
Inside I have painted it a soft aqua by mixing Gesso with some turquoise acrylic paint. I then gave that a generous layer of silver leaf. The photo really doesn't do the silver leaf justice: it looks so beautiful in real life!
You can see the silver leaf clearer in the photo above. It give a gorgeous antique look to the shell.
In one side of the egg I have added Tilda with Tulips, painted with distress inks using the no lines technique. I have added dots to her cheeks and eyes with a white gel pen.
In the other side I have added Tilda Hiding Easter Egg, again painted with distress inks.
Nestling between the two halves is the sweet little lamb.
I hope you have enjoyed your visit to my blog and like my creation. I'm the last designer on the hop, so it is time for you to hop back to the
