Good morning! It is the Easter holidays here which means extra free time, perfect for crafting! I was inspired to make this Toile du Jouy style frame by one of my little girl's outfits - some cute dungarees in a Toile du Jouy print. As I was looking at the pictures on the fabric they reminded me of the stamps in the Vintage Garden Collection so I wanted to see if I could recreate it. The whole frame is made from a recycled cereal packet!
I used Faded Jeans Distress Ink to stamp onto sticky back canvas which I have then cut into strips to cover the cereal box frame.
You can see in this photo the tail of the bird from the Vintage Garden stamp. I used the flower stamp and the bird stamp from this collection and the butterfly from the Ornamental Butterfly Collection. I added some pale grey lace around the centre of the frame.
I added an arrangement of flowers to one corner of the frame in colours to match the 'Toile du Jouy' canvas.
For the centre of the frame I stamped the Single Stamp 012, Magic, onto a vintage book page. I've distressed the edges of the page with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and torn and curled it here and there. I've added tiny flowers and cheesecloth in the tears for a romantic touch.
I stamped two butterflies from the Ornamental Butterfly Collection onto the sticky back canvas and cut them out without the swirls to adorn the frame.
I hope you like my faux 'Toile du Jouy' frame. Enjoy your day and thank you for visiting!
