Simon Says Stamp DT - Check it out!

Me again!! phew! busy day today! This week at Simon Says Stamp our theme is check it out!! So get out all those checks, gingham and plaids!! I went mad and used gingham paper AND ribbon LOL - check me out!! (sorry couldn't resist LOL) .
The paper is by Magnolia and is available at Simon Says Stamp, as is the image, buttons and flowers on my card today (well they do have just about everything LOL!!). I have followed the fab sketch at Truly Scrumptious for my card although I've swapped the rectangle image for a circle (hope that is OK, understand if it isn't!).

My image is by Mo Manning from Stampavie, called The End of Summer. Isn't it a gorgeous image? Love the laid back dreamy feeling it gives just looking at it! I've coloured her with copics and simply distressed the edge of the image with my Tim Holtz paper distressing tool and did the same again on the red and white layers I've used around the image.

I added three strips of lace from my stash for the elements of the sketch and then went to town on the flowers! The image just screams summer meadow to me so I had to make one for her to be lying in!! All the flowers are by Prima and I've sprayed them with glimmer mist although it doesn't seem to be showing in the bright sunlight I took the photos in! The buttons are by Basic Grey and the ribbon is by Offray from my stash.

The ticket is of course from Tim Holtz, also available at Simon Says Stamp!!

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Simon Says Stamps Challenge. Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the teams stunning creations! Thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy Challenge DT - Kim's sketch

At last it is time for another Whiff of Joy challenge. It seems such a large gap since we changed to fortnightly!! This fortnight we have a gorgeous sketch by Kim for you!! I just had to use Willow Coffee 2 Go again as I just love her! The papers are from MME La Paperie stack, distressed with frayed burlap distress ink.

I have coloured Willow with copics and added some rock candy stickles to her shades and some liquid pearls to her bracelet and bag clasp. I stamped around the edge of the image with a Stempelglede stamp using bundled sage distress ink.

The large cream rose is from Hobby Craft and the others are from Wild Orchid Crafts, all sprayed with glimmer mist.

I added a Tim Holtz ticket and a tiny snippet of a Heidi Grace paper that was on my desk ready for the bin as it was the only bit left and it just happened to match perfectly! I created the crystal and pearl flourishes myself with gems from the Hobby House and liquid pearls.

Hope you like it and can join us this week at Whiff of Joy challenge! Pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous cards! Thanks for looking! x

Tickled Pink Stamps - Fashionette Lil Lolita preview - Day 3!

So glad you all loved Mod Ivy - she's groovy isn't she!? Day 3 of the Tickled Pink Stamps Fashionette Lil Lolita stamps and its all a bit depressing today as we zip back to the 1930's and the great depression!! Lylah's still looking stylish though despite the lack of money LOL - how gorgeous is this outfit!?!?!
Art Deco was still around in the 1930's so I used this gorgeous paper from Basic Grey Cappella pad which has an art deco kind of pattern in my opinion and was also great colours for a 1930's card.
I've coloured Lylah with copics and cut her out with a nesstie which I think is a bit art deco shaped too LOL.
I had some fun with the embellishments and decided to clear emboss some of the flowers for a bit of a Bakelite feel as that was all the rage then too LOL. Then to give it a bit of a make do and mend feel befitting a depression I added some flowers punched from a book page and some button brads. A pearl "hat pin" for Lylah's hat and some Woodware punched leaves completes the look!
The gorgeous ribbon and all the brads are from my stash and the small spacers are from the Hobby House.

Hope you like Lylah as much as I do and can pop back tomorrow for another gorgeous Fashionette Lil Lolita preview - you know you want to know what she's like!! Thanks for looking x

Tickled Pink Stamps - Fashioinette Lil Lolitas preview day 2!

Not surprisingly you all seemed to LOVE Evie as much as I do!!! Well I have another stunning image for you today too!!! Yes, it is day 2 of the Tickled Pink Stamps Fashionette Lil Lolitas previews and we're zapping through the eras to the 60's today with Mod Ivy!!!! Now, I wasn't around in the 60's but my parents were and I just love looking at photos of them during that time and of course I love a lot of the music so I loved making this card. It's my Mum's birthday next week so I'm thinking I might even give her this card!! I remember my Mum gave me some of her old 60's Mary Quant make up when I was little - bright blue eyeshadow and silver lipstick LOL - I kid you not!! Anyway LOL the Mary Quant flower logo was the inspiration for my card!!! Here she is............Mod Ivy!!!! Isn't she amazing!?!?

LOVE her boots - had to do them patent white leather LOL along with her headband and belt for her maxi mini dress in black and white! I added some rock candy stickles to her boots, belt and headband to make them shine - wish I'd had some of that glossy accents stuff, would have been better but there you go. I was going to emboss them until I discovered the "clear" embossing pen I've never used actually shows up blue through the clear embossing powder :(.

I used the amazing sketch by Bev for the Create 4 fun challenge, it was just perfect for what I had in mind with the big flowers - don't you just love it when that happens!? The papers are from the Hobby House, they're actually from a wedding collection by Making Memories but worked a treat!
I made the Mary Quant style flowers by punching out a retro flower with my EK success punch and then drawing round it to create less space between the petals. The circles in the middle are cut from the backing paper and I added some Prima centre kisses to them for a bit of sparkle (never thought I'd use the black ones LOL).

Hope you like the new image, I have four more stunners to show you so watch this space tomorrow! They will be available to buy from Tickled Pink Stamps on Saturday and Kellie posts stamps out international so noone misses out!! x

Tickled Pink Stamps DT - Lil Lolita new release preview!!!!

WOOHOO!!! I am sooooo excited today!!! why???? You may know I have been guest designing for Tickled Pink Stamps during June and absolutely loved their new Lil Lolita stamps I got to work with....well....imagine how thrilled I was when Kellie asked if I would stay on until the end of the year!!!!! As if that wasn't exciting enough I then saw what Kellie has coming up for us all to play with next......the Fashionette Lil Lolitas!! Wait until you see all of these, they are absolutely incredible!!! First up on our day 1 preview is 1920's Evie, isn't she just stunning? I love her!!
I had a quick look through some style books I have and found some papers that were art deco (ish) and made the layout in a traditional art deco style to suite Evie! The papers are from MME La Paperie stack.
I have coloured her with copics and inked the edges of the image with frayed burlap distress ink.

I made the flowers from the same cardstock as the base of the card using Tim Holtz tattered florals dies to match the flower on Evie's dress. Some fluffy white feathers from the Hobby House and a crystal stem from Wild Orchid Crafts completed my art deco look.

The leaves were punched from black cardstock with a Woodware leaf punch.

Hope you enjoyed my little preview and make sure you stop by tomorrow when I will have another new Fashionette Lil Lolita preview for you.....mmmmm which era will it be??? Thanks for looking! x

Lovely hAnglar Only GDT card

I was so thrilled to be chosen as the winner of the first challenge at Lovely hAnglar Only challenge blog and even more thrilled when they asked if I would be a guest designer for two challenges!!! Thank you soooo much ladies!!! Today it is time for the 3rd challenge and this time there is a gorgeous sketch to follow. I decided to make a start on my son's teacher thank you cards and thought this little hAnglar boy was just like him, especially when coloured in his school uniform colours! The papers are from MME La Paperie stack, distressed with Walnut Stain distress ink.
I have coloured the image with distress inks and used a white gel pen to highlight his cheeks. I have added a couple of eyelets to the image so that I could thread through some jute string.

The border was punched with MS doiley lace punch and I added some extra distressing to the paper above the sentiment which I stamped with some tiny alphabet stamps by Hampton Art.

I didn't want the card to be too girly with it being from my little boy, so I made some lollipop flowers to be the main feature and just added a few small roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Hope you like it and you can join us at Lovely hAnglar Only challenge! Thanks for looking! x

Just Magnolia DT - Bev's sketch

Yippee!! Friday and time for another Just Magnolia challenge! This week we have a scrummy sketch by Bev, thanks hun I loved it!! I have been commissioned to make some anniversary cards and thought this gorgeous wedding stamp could also work as an anniversary couple (any excuse to use it LOL). The papers are a mixture of Bo Bunny, 7 Gypsies and the vellum I'm not sure as I've cut the name off but it was from the Hobby House!

This is my first image on Neenah cardstock (also from the Hobby House) and I have to say it is brilliant to work with! I've coloured them with copics of course. The only stipulation for this commission was to have burnt orange flowers as that was what they had on their wedding day and so I have matched everything in with that!
I made the large flower with some paper from MME La Paperie pad using Tim Holtz tattered florals die and a pearl brad from my stash.
The border is MS heart lace punch and the lace was from my stash. I printed the sentiment on the computer and cut out the heart freehand around it.

Hope you like it and can join us this week at Just Magnolia! Thanks for looking! x

I made a little graduation scroll from paper and inked it with antique linen distress ink at the edges before adding some ribbon from my stash. The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

The sentiment is from a Forever Friends set and I've added a few gems here and there for some sparkle and a couple of star charms from the Hobby House.

Tickled Pink Stamps GDT - Lil Lolita Boutique challenge

Today I have a card to show you as part of my Guest Designing for Tickled Pink Stamps for the Lil Lolita Boutique challenge, which is the challenge dedicated to the gorgeous Lil Lolita stamps! This week Kellie has set a brilliant challenge - to make your own paper!! - I must admit, I don't do this half as often as I should because I always love it when I do!! I used several stamps: Hero Arts; Simon Says Stamp's own brand; Stempelglede and one I'm not sure of the make, together with various distress ink colours. I used the sketch at Mojo Monday for the layout.
I have used Willow (I so love her eyelashes!) and coloured her with copics. I added a touch of stickles to one of the layers on her skirt and her shoes.
The main paper I heavilly distressed and used a lot of colour and stamps, the main focal point being this fab Eiffel Tower stamp from a Simon Says Stamp exclusive set, stamped with black soot distress ink and covered in stickles. For the contrast paper I simply stamped a Hero Arts butterfly in a random pattern with victorian velvet distress ink.
I added two gardenias from Wild Orchid Crafts, sprayed with glimmer mist and a couple of pinky red feathers from a fascinator I bought years ago for a wedding that I have decided can now go in my stash as I never wore it LOL!
The sentiment is from the Whiff of Joy Blooming Spring kit and the lace and ribbon is from my stash.
Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at Lil Lolita Boutique challenge this week if you have any of the gorgeous Lil Lolitas! Thanks for looking! x

Neenah card stock!!

Hi! just a quick post to let all you copic users know that Jill has Neenah card at the Hobby House. Limited supply though so be quick! I had to dash straight there this morning and am in love with it already!! xx

Whiff of Joy DT - City Girls preview

Another preview of the City Girls II images for you today!! This is Graduation Oakley and he was such fun to colour!! I have used a mixture of Basic Grey and MME papers, distressed with Walnut Stain Distress ink.

Oakley was coloured with copics and I inked around the edge of the image with frayed burlap distress ink.
I made a blackboard from cardstock and simply wrote some figures and equations on it with my white gel pen - love how it turned out!

I have written the sentiment myself with my calligraphy pen and added a couple of tails of red ribbon from my stash to look like a rosette. The brads and jute string are from my stash.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! Only one more day and you can order these gorgeous stamps from Whiff of Joy on Friday - woohoo! x
