Craft Heaven DT - You are Invited

Good morning!  For today's Craft Heaven post I have an afternoon tea invitation that I made for my Mum for Mother's Day.  I have used papers from Maja Design's Denim & Friends collection.

I used the cake stand and doily Doohickey dies along with the cakes from the oven Doohickey die set.
I had fun making the tiny cakes and biscuits look more realistic with sprinkles and icing using a white gel pen and chocolate drops using a Walnut Stain Distress Ink Marker.
The sentiment is from the You are Invited collection and the gorgeous heart lace is from Craft Heaven.
I added a little tear in the paper with some cheesecloth and a pale blue rose.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Bowling Party Invitations

Good morning!  Today I'd like to share my daughter's bowling party invitations.  If you've followed my blog a long time you might recognise the bowling pins -  I made them for my son's birthday years ago and kept the template!  As I really don't like to repeat work, I decided to make bowling pins for the boy's invitations and bowling balls for the girl's.  The pins were cut freehand from my own template and then red strips of card added.
The bowling balls are very easy to make - I used the largest Nestability circle die for the ball and the smallest for the black circles to represent the finger holes.
The party sentiment was stamped with an old MME stamp using Faded Jeans Distress Ink on the pins and Dusty Concord on the balls.
On the back of the invitations I have used the You are Invited sentiment from Magnolia's You are Invited Collection.
Altogether I made five of each - not enough for a strike!
I hope you like them and thanks for looking! x

Magnolia Down Under Challenges DT - Happy Birthday!

Woohoo!!!  We're celebrating this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges as it is our 3rd birthday!!  How amazing is that!?  In honour of the occasion our theme for this week is Happy Birthday.  It is also my little girl's birthday this month so I have lots of preparations to make for her birthday party.  These are the invitations I have made.  She was so thrilled to hand them out at school.  Everything has to be pink for my little girl - she us just a little tiny bit obsessed with the colour lol!  She has even converted my, I was never really one for pink and now I love it!!  The gorgeous candy striped papers are by Magnolia.  I made little pocket envelopes with the paper and then I've used my circle punch to create the semi-circle cut out at the top to make it easier for the invitation to pull out.
Each envelope is topped with a tag for the recipient's name and some gorgeous seam binding and a blossom flower, both from The Ribbon Girl.  On the pull out invitation I have used the gorgeous #704 Please Join Princess  invitation stamp from Magnolia, stamped with victorian velvet distress ink.
Around the edge I have stamped a Stempelglede stamp, also with victorian velvet distress ink.
On the reverse I have used printed all the deails of her party.  Luckily we are only inviting 10 guests so it didn't get too repetitive!
I hope you like them and I've inspired you to join us for our birthday celebration!  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's incredible creations.  Both teams are joining together for this special challenge so there is lots of gorgeousness to drool over!  Thanks for looking. x

Bowling Party Invitations!

Today I want to share with you an idea I had for my little boy's party invitations - I bet you can't guess what he chose to do for his birthday lol!?  It is his birthday tomorrow - this is a scheduled post as I'm probably busy icing his cake as you read this lol!!  As always seems to be the case in our house, the party was a bit of a last minute thing and luckilly these invitations didn't take long at all!!  Sometimes the simplist ideas are the best!  The "party" sentiment is from an MME stamp set.
I also stamped it onto the envelopes along with a squiggly line that is also in the same stamp set.
I hope you like them and thanks for looking! x

Magnolia Down Under Challenges DT - Make Your Own Embellishments

Woohoo!!  It is time for another challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenges and this week we have a challenge to make your own embellishments.  I have made my own flower, Union Jack pennants and Union Jack paper for my invitation to a BBQ in honour of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee!  It is such a special year this year in the UK, we have the Queen's Diamond Jubilee AND the Olympics to celebrate - how amazing is that!?!?!  I really chuckled making this card as I was 5 when the Queen celebrated her Silver Jubilee and I can still remember the street party I went to and what myself and my brother were dressed up as lol!!  If I can get my Mum to find the photo I'll show you - I dressed up as the Dutch girl from the Edam Cheese advert that was on TV at the time lol and my little brother dressed up as Noddy!!  LOL wouldn't it be funny to dress up as the same people for this Jubilee....now there's an idea!!!  Sorry, going off track there with my memories lol - back to my card!
I used Tilda with Hamburger, Tilda's BBQ and the Invitation stamp except I masked out the Princess.... from the invitation stamp so that I could add "The Diamond Jubilee" instead.  The images are coloured with copics.  I added a crown charm from my stash and some gems along the bottom (diamonds!).
I have added stickles to Tilda's dress and apron - got to have a sparkly dress for the Jubilee don't you think!?
All of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts except the large red and white one which I have made myself.
On the base of the easel you can see my Union Jack paper in more detail.  The blue paper is from Basic Grey and the red spotty paper is from MME.  I have left the tag blank until I know further details of the party!
I had great fun creating these mini Union Jack pennants!  I have used the pennant doohickey die #30 to cut the pennants from the blue paper before adding my Union Jack pattern with the red paper - really love how these turned out!
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges!  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations and hand made embellishments - there are some gorgeous ideas!  Thanks for looking! x
