Happy Father's Day

Good evening!  I have a pop up box card to show you today that I made for Father's Day.  I have used papers from Maja Design's Vintage Summer and Little Street Cafe Collections.

The stitched circles were cut with Crealies dies and the Dad sentiment is a die from my stash.  The edges of all the pieces were inked with Walnut Stain Distress Ink using a blending tool.

I have used the banner from Magnolia Doohickey Volume 9 and the flags and flagpoles from the Flags Doohickey die.  The stars were cut with a Sizzix die.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Father's Day Motion Card

Good afternoon!  Today I would like to share with you the Father's Day card I have made for my dad featuring Fixer Upper Edwin from the Fixer Upper Collection and Edwin's Oldsmobile car from the Summer Memories Collection.

I have painted Edwin with Distress Inks using the no lines techique and added dots to his cheeks and eyes with a white gel pen before cuttin him out.  He is placed on 3D pads.  All of the papers on this card are by Maja Design with the exception of the paper I have used for the floor and the scene outside the window.

Edwin's Oldsmobile was also painted with Distress Inks.  I created a DAD numberplate to replace the CUBA one that is on the stamp.  I have covered the paintwork and windows of the car with Glossy Accents and the headlights with Stardust Stickles.

The window was cut with a Doohickey die from Volume 9 and I placed a section of paper from Pion Design for the scene outside the window.  I've added Glossy Accents to the window panes too.

The metal store ornament from my stash is a great way of adding some interest to cards for males.

The cute hammer and brush are charms from Craft Heaven.

I love using dies in different ways.  The ramp is made from the bottom of the Eiffel Tower Doohickey from Volume 3!  The oil patches are part of a stamp from the Magnolia Day Art stamp kit.  I just inked the larger splatters.

Watch my video to see how this card moves!  It took a while to figure out how to make the car move up when I wanted the pull tab to be on the side rather than on top but I love how it turned out!

I hope you like it and thanks for looking!

Craft Heaven DT - Happy Father's Day

Good evening!  Today I have my latest card for Craft Heaven to share with you.  It was Father's Day here in the UK last weekend and this is the card I made for my dad.  I have used Maja Design's Denim Collection papers and stamps from Stempelglede, both available from Craft Heaven.
I have used the Happy Father's Day text from Stempelglede's Have a Beautiful Day collection as the main focus of the card.
The stamps were stamped with another Stempelglede stamp from the Postcard from Paris collection.
The text is also from the Postcard from Paris collection.  The button was cut with a Tim Holtz die and I added some twine from my stash.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to have a go at those very tricky male cards.  I always struggle to decide what to put on them.  Thanks for looking! x

Happy Father's Day

Good afternoon and happy Father's Day to all the Dads and Grandads out there.  This is the card that I made for my children to give my dad.  You may be able to guess from the card that my dad is into archery.  The card is simply die cut circles and the largest two circles are hand cut.
I have used the Magnolia Doohickey arrow dies from one of last year's Doohickey kits and cut the fletchings in the colours that my dad uses.
I pierced holes into the 'gold' circle using my Tim Holtz Die Pick and then pushed the arrows through them before gluing down.  The letters are Webster's Pages stickers, mounted onto acetate so that they sit above the card layers 'invisibly'.
All of the layers are mounted on 3D pads to add extra interest to the card as you can see in the photo above.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Magnolia-licious DT - 'W'ednesday Post

Good morning!  It is time for me to share another 'W'ednesday creation on the Magnolia-licious Challege blog using a Magnolia Mini-world stamp.  I've used the fabulous miniature version of Oldsmobile.
I've painted the image with disstress inks to look like an abandoned, rusty car.  My super talented friend Kylie painted the full size version like this a couple of years ago and it looked amazing, so I was inspired to do the same.  It is also very fitting as my Dad has an old car that he has been doing up for about fifteen years now and it still looks the same!  I have also added Glossy Accents to the glass and the headlights.
The pennant flags are a Doohickey die from one of last year's kits and the letters are from a Tim Holtz die.  The twine is from The Ribbon Girl.
The screwdrivers are from my stash: saved from some Christmas crackers years ago!  I have used the Ocean Map stamp for the maps.
The die cut behind the map is a hanging sign die from a Doohickey kit.
The buttons and washers were cut using a button die from the Autumn themed Doohickey kit.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to get those Magnolia Mini-world stamps out for our challenge.  Pop over to the blog to see some more Mini-world inspiration.  Thanks for looking! x

La-la Land Crafts GDT - Father/Masculine

Good morning!  I have another La-la Land Crafts card to share with you today.  Our the theme over on the La-la Land Crafts Blog this week is 'Father/Masculine'.  As I hadn't actually made any of this year's Father's Day cards yet this challenge was perfect to get me started on them!  I opted for a plain kraft card background as I love the look of navy, red and white with kraft.
I used the Lattice Doily Border Die to create the main background for the card.  I've used it twice and separated them with some gorgeous navy ribbon from The Ribbon Girl.  The red letters are Webster's Pages stickers.
I used the Heart Lock and Key die set  to create embellishments from silver cardstock.  The little hearts that are dotted in the corners of the card are the off cuts from these two dies.
Here's a close up of the Heart Lock.  Isn't it gorgeous?  I've added some thick jute string behind it to add a bit of texture to the card.
I've also used the Feathers dies.  Both style of feather come in the one set.  I've inked the edges of them with Walnut Stain Distress Ink to make them stand out.  The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps, stamped onto gold cardstock.
So...that's one Father's Day card down, four to go.  Oops!  Better get cracking with the rest seeing as there is only a week to go!  Pop over to the La-la Land Crafts Blog to see the rest of the team's stunning cards.  Thanks for looking! x

Father's Day Card

Good morning!  I thought I'd share the Father's Day card and gift tag I made this year.  Actually, I made two identical cards - one for my Father in Law too!  I must confess they were very last minute as I have had a lot on over that last few weeks and didn't have time to sit down to make them until Saturday night!
The tag is very simple, just some Webster's Pages stickers for the wording and two types of ribbon from The Ribbon Girl across the bottom and to attach it to the gift.
I've used Webster's Pages stickers again on the card and simply cut out different size stars using a Sizzix die - I love this die, it is invaluable for men's and boy's cards!
As with the tag, the ribbons are from The Ribbon Girl.  The 'you're the BEST!' was hand written with a white gel pen.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Ribbon Girl DT - Magnolia Only Challenge - Two Backing Papers

Good morning!  It is time for our Magnolia only challenge over at The Ribbon Girl blog and our theme is "Two Backing Papers".  This is one of the Father's Day cards I made this year.
I coloured Cowboy Edwin with copics in sepia tones and then inked around the image with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I then pierced the paper here and there to look like bullet holes lol.
The star and the Tim Holtz clock face were cut from a recycled drinks can and inked with Walnut Stain Alcohol Ink.
All of the embellishments are from The Ribbon Girl and the border along the bottom of the image is the Coffee Label Doohickey die.  The edges of the card were cut with Tim Holtz Placque and Postage die.
I hope you like my card and I've inspired you to join us at The Ribbon Girl.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's incredible cards.  Thanks for looking! x

The Sketchy Challenges DT - Kylie's Sketch

Hi there!!  Do you have a great weekend planned?  I'm hoping the weather stays fine here as my sweet little Kara has decided that she wants to learn to ride her bike without stabilisers this weekend - I think there will be lots of tears and falling off ahead in the next two days :)!  We have a new sketch up today over at The Sketchy Challenges and our incredible Kylie has designed this fortnight's sketch.  Of course I need a few Father's Day cards this month so this sketch was perfect to use as inspiration for one of them.  The papers are from BoBunny and have all been distressed and inked with walnut stain distress ink.
In replacement of the oval element in the sketch I have used a heart, cut from chipboard with a Sizzis die and instead of the diagonal paper piece I added some Tim Holtz Filmstrip Ribbon on an angle.  The stamp is a Hero Arts one stamped with Stazon onto the ribbon.

The alphas are from Webster's Pages and I've inked the edges of these with Walnut Stain Distress Ink too.

I added a key from my stash along with some distressed seam binding to keep the embellishments "manly" and to a minimum lol.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this fortnight at The Sketchy Challenges!  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations.  Thanks for looking! x
