Stempelglede DT - Thinking of You

Good morning!  I have another Stempelglede card to share today.  Sadly, I needed a sympathy card this week, and the beautiful, serene stamp from the Vintage Garden stamp set was perfect for the job.
As always I have painted with Distress Inks.  The stamping around the edge of the image mat is also a stamp from the Vintage Garden set.  This has been stamped with Old Paper Distress Ink.
I have added some flowers, cheesecloth and twine from The Ribbon Girl.
The bark  heart is also from The Ribbon Girl.  The sentiment is from Stempelglede's Just a Note stamp set and the stamps were created with stamps from the Follow Your Heart and Postcard from Paris sets.
I stamped the postage stamp in different colours and then stamped the postmark over the top.  I then creased and aged the stamps with Walnut Stain Distress Ink.
I have used Memory Box Lovely Tendril die for the leaf sprays.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - Sympathy Card Idea

Good Morning!  Almost the end of the week! yay!!!  It's a bitter sweet day in our house today.  Our little girl is going to school for the morning for a visit before starting in September :( - surely it can't be right - she's still a baby right?  *sigh* where does the time go?  Anyway, back to today's card which is another take on my embossing folder tutorial on the Whiff of Joy World of Ideas blog.  Sympathy cards are one of those necessary but difficult cards to make and I think, somehow, they suite a simple style.
The dove, sentiment and die for the sentiment are all from Whiff of Joy and the ribbon is from my stash.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy Blog Hop!

Welcome to the May Whiff of Joy Blog Hop! If you didn't come here from Angie's blog, then head on over to the start of the hop at Katharina's blog. I don't want you to miss a single stop on this hop!  Our newest release is named Heartfelt Condolences and is filled with sweet and soft images illustrated by Elizabeth Bell. These images are perfect for using on Sympathy cards but also for other occasions when someone needs to know that they are cared for.

Be sure to leave a comment on each one of the DT's blogs because one lucky person will win a Whiff of Joy Sentiment set of their choice!  At the end of the hop, go to the Whiff of Joy Tutorial & Inspiration Blog, let us know that you have left a comment at each stop of the hop by entering you name using the linking tool that you will find at the end of that post.
The hop will remain open until midnight CEST (Central European Summer Time) Saturday May 19th. Winners will be announced at the Whiff of Joy Tutorial & Inspiration Blog the next day.
I have used the sweet image "sharing in your sorrow", coloured with copics.  I have stamped around the image with a stamp from Stempelglede's Just a Note set using antique linen distress ink.
The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts, and I have created a tiny rosette flower with an offcut of the backing paper which is from Basic Grey.  The pins are from The Hobby House and the button is from my stash.
The gorgeous grosgrain ribbon is from Whiff of Joy too and the lace is from my stash.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking!  Your next stop is Colleen's Blog!

Whiff of Joy Challenge DT - Bingo and another preview

Good morning!!  Starting off with quite a different card for me today!!  It is time for another challenge at Whiff of Joy Challenges and this fortnight we have a bingo challenge.  I have chosen the line kraft, pearls and ribbon for my card which is a very, very different style for me.  This is another preview from the Whiff of Joy Elisabeth Bell Sympathy Collection that will be released on the 28th.  When I saw this Weeping Willow tree image I wanted to make it look like one of those charcoal and chalk sketches.  I think I managed to achieve the look I was going for.
I have simply stamped the image with black ink then added highlights with a white gel pen rather than chalk to all the places the sunlight is hitting, and added some extra shadows for my "charcoal" areas using W7 and W5 copic markers.  What do you think??
The white grosgrain ribbon is also new at Whiff of Joy and the black pearls I have used are by Hero Arts.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this fortnight at Whiff of Joy Challenge.  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations!  Thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - Another Preview

I have another Whiff of Joy preview to share today from the upcoming Elisabeth Bell Sympathy Collection.  These will be released on 28th April.  This one is called Sharing in Your Sorrow - such a bittersweet image I think.  The papers are from Prima Botanical Paper pad and I've distressed them with frayed burlap distress ink and sewn the edges.
The image is coloured with copics and I inked around the image mat with frayed burlap distress ink.
The flowers, pins and ribbon are all from my stash and I have created the fabric sentiment tag myself with some of Claudine Helmuth's sticky back canvas.
The sentiment is from the Whiff of Joys General Sayings sentiment.
I've used a Martha Stewart punch on the edge under the ribbon, a nestie die for the image frame and a sizzix die for the cute little corner pieces.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - Preview Time!

Woohoo!!  I have a preview to share today from the upcoming release from Whiff of Joy.  This gorgeous image is from the new Elisabeth Bell Sympathy Collection.  Although it is a sympathy collection many of the stamps can be used for other occasions too.
I have coloured "Grieving Cherub" with copics.  The papers are all scraps from my stash without names on.  I have sewn them together and stamped a sentiment from Hero Arts.  There are some beautiful sentiments with this release too but unfortunately they haven't arrived yet.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x
