Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar DT - Anything Goes with buttons

Woohoo!! It is my turn to host the challenge at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge this week and as it is the first of the month we have our special Anything Goes challenge sponsored by Simon Says Stamp! The optional extra this week is buttons. As you can see I am showing my April calendar page today! The gorgeous papers are by October Afternoon from the Ducks in a Row collection. I have distressed the edges and added stickles.

How gorgeous is this Tilda? Love her hairstyle and of course I wouldn't mind some of those Easter eggs she has collected LOL! I've coloured her with copics and added stickles to the lace on her dress.

I used a Magnolia Doohickey for the lace die cut and added some spotty ribbon from my stash. The grass was cut with Whiff of Joy's grass die and I created the calendar on the PC. I added some cute wooden buttons and crochet flowers from The Hobby House.

I added lots of tiny pink butterflies using a Martha Stewart punch too.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge! Thanks for looking! x

Simon Says Stamp Challenge DT - Make your own Embellishments!

Woohoo! Time for another challenge at Simon Says stamp challenge and as always we are sponsored by the lovely Heidie with a massive $50 credit voucher to spend in the Simon Says Stamp store as our prize!

Our challenge this week is to make your own embellishments and all the team have made some gorgeous examples!

I have made the March page for my calendar using papers by Magnolia. I have painted the edge of the calendar page with pickett fence crackle paint too.

I have coloured the sweet Tilda with three flowers with copics.

Here's my hand made embellishments! I created the button by die cutting some of the yellow paper with the smallest circle nestie and punching two holes before triple embossing with deep impression embossing powder. I have then gathered some lace from my stash underneath to create a flower. The daffodil I created with two pale yellow Prima flowers. I simply rolled one up for the trumpet of the flower. The leaves were cut with a doohickey die and I've used MS daisy edge punch along the edge of the yellow paper.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Simon Says Stamps challenge! Pop over to see the rest of the gorgeous creations from the team! Thanks for looking! x

Simon Says Stamp Challenge DT - Bingo!!

We're back with another challenge at Simon Says Stamp Challenge and this week we have a Bingo card to play around with. If you're not familiar with the concept I'll explain - there is a Bingo card on the challenge blog and you choose either a horizontal, vertical or diagonal line of three squares to play with and you must use what is in those three squares on your card! As always Heidi is sponsoring us with a whopping $50 voucher for the Simon Says Stamp store!

I have chosen the buttons, flowers and glitter/glimmer line for my calendar page.

Obviously this is my February page - all valentine inspired!! I used the cuter than cute mini Tilda with hearts from the Winter kit and stamped her with a heart tree from Magnolia so that it looks like she's picked all the hearts from the tree LOL! I've then added lots of stickles to the lace on her dress and the hearts. The dragonfly is a Magnolia doo hickey die cut, also covered in stickles. I've also used Magnolia paper.

Here's a close up of Tilda - she's so adorable isn't she?! I have created a grass and sky background using copics too. You can buy the full size version of this Tilda with many hearts in the Simon Says Stamp store!!

The gorgeous red flower is from Prima and the leaves are a doo hickey die cut.

The gorgeous heart banner is from Whiff of Joy. I've sprayed it with pearl glimmer mist and added a heart button from my stash that I've painted with pickett fence crackle paint and a touch of red stickles.

Hope you like it and I've inspired yo uto join us this week at Simon Says Stamp! Thanks for looking! x

Magnolia Down Under Challenge DT - Calendars

First I want to spare a minute to say that my thoughts are with you all in Australia with the dreadful floods. I cry every time it is on the news and I hope you're all staying safe.

We have a great challenge this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenge this week which is to either make a calendar/calendar page or feature a calendar on your project. I've wanted to make a calendar with my Magnolias for a long time now and just haven't got around to it so this was the perfect opportunity! I've only made this page so far but there is a while to go until February LOL!! I have used Magnolia paper and some scraps of MME paper for the stars. The calendar is a Papermania chipboard album which I have to say was such a bargain at £2.99!!
I just had to ink up this gorgeous Tilda from the winter kit again. She's so cute! I've coloured her with copics. The star behind her and the rest on the page are a sizzix die.
I created the calendar myself on the computer. The 2011 was cut with Tim Holtz Market Street die and the circle is a nestie. The spacer and glitter brads are from my stash. I added a scrap of lace with a stapler.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenge. Pop over to the blog to be inspired the rest of the team's amazing creations! Thanks for looking! x
