A Spoonful of Sugar challenge

I have been practising my distress ink colouring today and am much happier with this than my Henry one although I still need a lot more practise. I decided to choose something easy to colour and chose the gorgeous Tilda with Hearts. I love this stamp as my little girls hair curls up around her ears just like Tilda's hairdo in this stamp so I feel like I'm colouring a picture of my little girl LOL! There is a gorgeous sketch by Debbie this week over at A spoonful of Sugar so I really wanted to join in and this is the card I've made. I just noticed though that I was supposed to put my text underneath the image......sorry, hope it is still OK!

Here is a closer view of my distress ink colouring but don't look too close LOL! I have stamped my beloved Stempelglede flourish stamp around the edges and added some stickles to the hearts and swirls. I feel I should mention that I have been inspired to do this on my card by the uber talented Kim as I just love it on her cards, thank you for the inspiration Kim!

The heart I have cut out of some really thick card that I have pinched off the back of my Son's colouring pad, it is my cheating grungeboard as I think it looks like it and I don't have any LOL! I have distressed the edges of it with brushed cordoruy ink and then rubbed a white luster rub on over the top and added a little heart gem. The netting behind with the pins is a piece of a wash tablet bag.

My sentiment is discreetly hidden in amongst my swirls! Did you spot it?? I painted it with tattered rose distress ink.
The charm is from the hobby house and the gorgeous chiffon ribbon is from my stash!
The paper I have made myself using a Magnolia key stamp, Stempelglede grunge heart and grunge flourish stamps and a dotty swirl stamp and distress inks. I'm really pleased with how it turned out and it was so much fun to make! I have called it "key to my heart" as obviously it has keys and hearts on LOL!
Hope you liked my card and my paper and thank you so much for looking! x

Gorjuss Bottle

This is almost an exact copy of one I did a couple of months ago, although you probably haven't seen it as I don't think I had any followers then as I'd just set up my blog! The lady I gave it too really loved it and asked me to do one the same for her Mum's birthday. The original one is here, https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKeYMgPIauMoYeRpP726p213Gx_e-uxavLPxXL56jds6C6CrsP2UAbbstqVZW_jhvjQxseXyoz3d-yosOyfN6ujDDBaLCLeLmtwxP2NYVaoPGvLGW7UNEDBQC6Sqm9CZSBDpjND_lt2XU/s1600/SNC00274.jpg

but I think this one is a little better as I now have more stash like distress inks and more stamps!

This is round the neck of the bottle, the image is mounted onto pink card that I have embossed with a grunge circle from the Stempelglede grunge collection, the edges distressed with tattered rose distress ink and coral Q chalk.

The gift tag has also been distressed at the edges in the same way.

A close up of the label. The paper behind the image I made myself with my New Year swirl stamp from Magnolia in various colours of pink Q chalk and silver embossing.

The gift tag is attached to the top of the bottle with a flower.

More of my wash tablet bag netting, this time I've scrunched it in pink pearlescent glue until completely covered so it has a lovely sheen.

Commissioned Magnolia card

As you can see this card is almost the same as the Whiff of Joy one below appart from the image and a few bits on the front. I was asked to make a card with the same papers and colours but with the Tilda picking lilacs image. I made some more paper to match and pretty much copied the front with a few changes because the image was bigger than previously. The inside is different too. I have tried to make Tilda look like a sepia photograph with the flowers picked out in colour, like you see them done on black and white photos only I didn't think black and white would suite the card. Bit of a disaster whilst colouring Tilda though.....my skin white copic has run out...yes run out after only 2 months!!!! So now have to go to my local craft shop for another, lets hope they have it in stock or I won't be able to colour any images until I get one! So please do not look too closely at Tilda's face for now because I couldn't finish blending it and will have to do it when I get the new pen. x

This is the inside.

Gorjuss plonk!!

Warning...this post may be long as I'm sooooo excited about this project!

and here it is.......an altered bottle of wine!!! I have made it for my Brother's girlfriend as she cuts my son's hair but won't take any money so usually get her some wine so she can't refuse! The reason I'm so excited about it though is becuase I made my own paper using Magnolia's new year swirl stamp and a flower stamp with Qchalks and silver embossing. I'm really pleased with how it has turned out. Here is a close up of it........

One of the other reasons is the pearly pink "netting" behind the flower.......you'll never guess what this is made from.......I cut up one of those net bags you get with your washing tablets and covered it in pearlescent pink glue! LOL I think it looks great and I think it will be appearing in different colours on more of my projects!

I also made a bottle "cuff" and gift tag which is attached to the top with a flower.

Hope you like it!!! Trouble is I'm loving it so much I'm loath to give it away now! Sorry if I've bored you! x
