Whiff of Joy DT - sneak peek

Here is my final sneak peek for you from Whiff of Joy's new Christmas collection which will be on sale tomorrow!! I love all of these new images but I have to say this is one of my favourites!! This is Christmas Train and I just love how Henry and Betty are hanging out the windows LOL!! The paper is from K&Co distressed with walnut stain distress ink.

I have coloured the image with copics and added a touch of stickles to the snowflake on the carriage. I have inked around the edges with bundled sage distress ink.
The sentiment comes with another of the images in the collection but is perfect for a few of these images!!
As I wanted the train to take centre stage of the card I just added a simple ribbon from my stash and a few gems. The punched edge is MS double loops punch.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - sneak peek new stamp kit

I have another sneak peek for you! As well as all the wonderful Henry, Betty and Sammy stamps that are coming out on 1st September at Whiff of Joy there will also be a new stamp kit. It contains all these gorgeous Christmas images and the sentiment along with several other sentiments.
I thought a stairstep card would make a nice nativity scene for the images. It didn't turn out quite how I wanted, I just couldn't seem to get the idea in my head out onto the paper LOL - don't you hate it when that happens!? Oh well, maybe I'll have another go at getting my idea onto paper another time!

The papers are Making Memories brocade Noel and I have inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink. All the images have been coloured with copics and cut out.

I placed a circle around baby Jesus for a halo as you see in old paintings of the nativity and gave it a gold shimmer with liquid pearls. The sentiment and lantern are from the kit, mounted on a Spellbinders fancy tag.
The die cut swirl behind the cute little donkey is a new Christmas die from Sizzix and I added some gems from the Hobby House in a swirl also.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Hehehe!! Isn't he fab in his Christmas jumper!? I've coloured him with copics on Neenah cardstock from The Hobby House, and added some stickles to the fur on his hat. I've inked around the edge of the image with bundled sage distress ink. The gems are also from The Hobby House.

The poinsettieas and leaves are from a Prima Christmas bubble and the small roses are from Wild Orchid crafts. I've added some stickles to them for a Christmas look. The spacer and brad are from my stash.

Magnolia Down Under Challenge DT - a recipe

Woohoo!! time for another challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenge and this week we have a recipe for you! The recipe is 3 papers, 2 buttons and 1 ribbon. I'm not sure I actually like my card - think I overdid it with the purple and it's not one of my favourite colours at the best of times! I ordered the Magnolia peacock paper online as I love peacock feathers but didn't realise it would be quite so purple in real life! Oh well, never mind!

I've coloured Tilda in a hurry with copics and added some stickles to the butterfly on her hat and the dragonfly. All the papers are from Magnlias Bon Voyage collection.

Now, I may not be happy with the overall card but I am extremely happy with my flower!! Did you see my Friday Flowers giveaway I posted last night? Some gorgeous Prima flowers, as always, and I looked at them and thought I could probably have a go at making a couple of the lace ones, and this is the result! Rather pleased, as buying flowers ends up quite expensive sometimes!! The button in the centre of the flower is from The Hobby House. The other flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts. The gorgeous fern leaf (behind the butterfly) was punched with a Leone Em punch by my lovely hubby as I can't punch it LOL! The butterfly border is a MS punch around the page punch. The butterfly was punched with MS Monarch butterfly punch, the edges inked with milled lavender distress ink and then stickled.

The gorgeous ribbon was recycled from a box of chocolates and the pearl button is from The Hobby House. Hubby had to help again as I needed the loop cutting off the back to make it flat to my card LOL! (He's going to want his name in my blog title at this rate LOL).

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenge. The rest of my lovely team mates have made some gorgeous inspiration for you - pop over and have a look! x

Whiff of Joy DT sneak peek and inspirations blog!

I have another sneak peek for you today from the upcoming release from Whiff of Joy. This is Sammy with Candy Cane, to be released 1st September, so not long now!

OK, so Sammy is supposed to be a boy but I thought I'd see if the image could be used for girl's cards too and I think it works don't you!? I've coloured Sammy with copics and cut her out completely so that I could add her to the background I've created. To find out how I've created the background you will need to visit the Whiff of Joy Inspirations blog, I have a tutorial for it there today!

I created some felt snowflakes using Marianne Creatables snowflakes dies and added some crystal spacers and pearls from the Hobby House to the centres.

I punched the bottom edge with MS heart lace punch and added a Christmas stocking charm from Whiff of Joy and a large chiffon bow using ribbon from my stash.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking. Enjoy your weekend!! x

Whiff of Joy DT - another sneak peek!

Here is another sneak peek for you of Whiff of Joy's stunning Christmas release which will be available on 1st September! I absolutely LOVE this image and have made two cards with it already but I can't show you the other one yet!

Aren't they just adorable!!!!??? I love how their little tails entwine in a heart shape and the excited look on Henry's face! Love his hat too - oh I just love the whole image LOL!! I've coloured "Betty and Henry Christmas Mice" with copics and added stickles to the gift wrap and liquid pearls to the buttons on both coats. The papers are from last year's Magnolia Christmas papers distressed with bundled sage distress ink and stickles.

The sentiment is the one I showed yesterday that comes with Betty with Candy cane but it is perfect with lots of these new images! I've stamped it with bundled sage distress ink.

I have added an array of vintage looking Christmas flowers. The poinsettias are by Prima and the roses and gladioli are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The leaves were punched with a McGill fern punch and I added some burgundy pearls in clusters to represent holly berries. The spacer in the centre of the poinsettia is from The Hobby House as are the green pearls. The white pearl fell out of a brad I think - it was just floating around my desk LOL!

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! Don't forget these cute images will all be available from Whiff of Joy on 1st September! I'll have another peek for you tomorrow - hope you can stop by! x

Just Magnolia DT - Dawny's sketch

Woohoo!! It's Friday and it's a Bank Holiday here in the UK !! (which probably means it is going to rain LOL). It is also time for another challenge at Just Magnolia and this week we have a scrummy sketch by Dawny. Thanks hun - it's gorgeous! I just had to ink up my newest Tilda - Secretive Tilda she's called and she is just so sweet in those dungarees and bare feet!!

I've coloured her with copics and also coloured a bit of a dirt track and sky background with copics too. I've painted the edges of the image mat with picket fence crackle paint and then inked with walnut stain distress ink.

I created the little letters myself with some Hampton Arts alphabet stamps and walnut stain distress ink before adding to a fancy tag with some jute string which is threaded through some eyelets from my stash.
I covered a chipboard heart with the same Magnolia paper and then painted the edges with crackle paint. All the paper edges have been painted too. The wooden button is from my stash.
The blossom and tiny gypsophilia flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the large white peony I made from mulberry paper using Magnolia's peony dies and some stamens from my stash. The branches were punched with MS branch punch.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Just Magnolia! I'll be back later with another Whiff of Joy preview for you and my Friday Flowers giveaway so I hope you can pop back! Thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - scary sneak peek!

I still have more Christmas images to show you from Whiff of Joy's upcoming new release but I thought I'd show you this cute witch image that will also be released on 1st September!

I don't really send halloween cards so thought it would be fun to make a door hanger to hang on our front door on halloween to let all the children know they can knock for treats (or maybe trickes LOL).
I have coloured "Little Witch" with copics I then created a full moon behind her with copics before adding a cloudy night sky with black soot distress ink. The papers are a mix of Bo Bunny and Magnolia distressed with black soot distress ink.
I created my spooky border by chomping into the edge of the cardstock with my MS snowflake punch. The witch's cat is a charm from Whiff of Joy's collection of embellishments.

The sentiment comes with the image and I added an owl, also from Whiff of Joy together with some bats that I fashioned from some punched butterflies with a few cuts here and there.
I added a a satin bow to match the hanging ribbon which is actually threaded through black eyelets but they are hidden by the ribbon! The pin is from Whiff of Joy, I simply added a black bead from my stash to it.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! Please scroll down to see my other sneak peek for today. x

Whiff of Joy DT - Sneak peek!

Woohoo! I have another sneak peek for you today using one of the new images to be released on 1st September at Whiff of Joy. This is Betty with Candy Cane and she comes with her own sentiment too - great value!
I have coloured her with copics and inked around the edge with antique linen distress ink.

The snowflakes were punched from vellum with MS snowflake punch and the crystal spacers and pearls are from the Hobby House.
This is the sentiment that comes with Betty. I've stamped it with fired brick distress ink and inked around the edge with antique linen distress ink.

I added a large satin bow with ribbon from my stash and a vellum snowflake in the centre.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy Challenge DT, a sneak peek and a DT call!!!!

Yippee!!! Not only is it time for another Whiff of Joy Challenge but it is also preview time for some amazing Christmas images coming to you on 1st September from Whiff of Joy!!!!!
Meet baby Sammy. Isn't he cute!?!?! Named after our designer Alison Acton's little bundle of joy he's a new character to the Whiff of Joy images. This image is just perfect for a baby's first Christmas card don't you think? Unfortunately I don't have any such cards to send this year but think he is perfectly at home on any Christmas card that calls for cuteness!

My paper is Cosmo Cricket's Mitten Weather (love the name!) and I've stamped around the edges with a Stempelglede flourish stamp using fired brick distress ink and then stickled over the top.

I've coloured Sammy with copics and then created a huge snowflake out of the image mat by adding die cut snowflakes around the edge using a Marianne Creatables die and adding lots of MS glitter.

The sentiment comes with little Sammy and is the perfect one for him don't you think? Just love watching my two open their presents excitedly on Christmas morning!

I added more sparkly snowflakes using the same die and a MS snowflake punch, this time covering them in a fine white glitter. The brads and gems are from the Hobby House.

Hope you can join us this fortnight at Whiff of Joy Challenge! Pop over and see the rest of the teams creations. Thanks for looking!

What about that DT call you mentioned in your title? I hear you cry. We are holding a DT call for Whiff of Joy Challenge blog with this challenge so be sure to get your entry in if you'd like to be considered!!
