Magnolia Down Under Challenges DT - Bingo!

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend! Tonight's card is for the Magnolia Down Under Challenge! This week we are playing Bingo! You are probably already familiar with this type of challenge, but basically you choose a row of 3 squares from the Bingo card on the MDUC blog and use them on your card. I'm really happy with this card! It was made so quickly compared to a lot of my other cards but it turned out so well. The gorgeous papers are from Prima's Annalee paper pad. I distressed the blue paper heavilly with my Tim Holtz distressing tool. The gorgeous punching around the pink paper is a Martha Stewart Punch around the page set.

I thought it was time I used one of the gorgeous stamps from earlier in the year and inked up the oh so cute Tilda with small gift. I have coloured her with copics.

The line I choose from the Bingo card was Ribbons, Flowers and Doohickeys. The gorgeous ribbon was from a local craft shop. The butterflies were punched with a Martha Stewart punch and the gorgeous swirl is, of course, the heart swirl doohickey from Magnolia.

I have also used the Magnolia rose leaf doohickey along with a beautiful blossom from Prima.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge DT - Buttons, Bows and Blooms

Time for another challenge at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge! This week our theme is Buttons, Bows and Blooms. My card is one of my "rejects" for the recent Magnolia Ink competition. I don't really like how it turned out at all - so only sent my other entries - but I didn't have time to make a card for this challenge before I went on holiday and it happened to fit - otherwise you would never have seen it LOL! The papers are all by Magnolia distressed with walnut stain distres ink.
I have masked Tilda onto the peppermint cane and coloured both with copics. This was one of the reasons I was unhappy with my card - I think this particular Tilda looks far too big on the cane!

I used a selection of flowers from my stash. The large on is by Prima and the tulips are by Magnolia.

I added a gorgeous satin bow and some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts at the other side.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge! Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous creations! Thanks for looking! x

Crafts and Me Challenge DT - Ribbons

It is time for another challenge at the Crafts and Me challenge and this week our theme is ribbons. Now, I had this gorgeous fairy all coloured up ready for another of my seasons themed canvasses and then decided the colours were too harsh to blend in with the rest of them so I've made a Christmas card with her instead.

I've coloured Twilight with copics and added some stickles to her wings. The gorgeous snowflake embossing is a Tim Holtz embossing folder. I've used pearlescent cardstock for a soft shimmer.

The sentiment is by Hero Arts and is starting to become a favourite! I've used it on anniversary, wedding and Christmas cards - I think it could probably be used for any occasion. I have embossed it with a gold glitter embossing powder - it is incredibly sparkly in real life but when I took the photo it was dull and raining and I just couldn't get it to show. The gorgeous velvet ribbon is from my stash.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Crafts and Me Challenge. Thanks for looking! x

Pink Ink Sketch Challenges DT - Kellie's Sketch!

Well, as you read this I will have actually set off on my holiday and have probably already been asked if we're nearly there yet by my extremely excited children :). They have been beyond excitement for weeks, bless them, with my little boy wanting to pack his suitcase almost daily LOL!

I can't believe that it is already time for another challenge at our Pink Ink Sketch Challenge blog!! Thank you all so much for your support and gorgeous entries with my sketch! This fortnight our sketch has been created by the talented Kellie! Not only that, but Kellie is also sponsoring the challenge with a fabulous prize from her amazing store Tickled Pink Stamps!!! I recently won the most amazingly generous candy from the my lovely and talented friend Mina and couldn't wait to ink up one of the gorgeous Sugar Nellie stamps she sent me! Thanks so much Mina! x

She is called Honey Bee from Sugar Nellie. I've coloured her with copics and added glossy accents to the honey jar and stickles to the bee's wings.

This shot shows the glossy accents and stickles much better - how scrummy does the honey pot look with that high shine!?!?!

I added a gorgeous chiffon bow from my stash and instead of the circle sentiment on Kellie's sketch I added a tag with a sentiment from Whiff of Joy. The edge was die cut with a Magnolia doohickey die.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us for our second Pink Ink Sketch challenge! Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's amazing creations! Thanks for looking! x

Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar DT - What's Cookin?

Woohoo!! Friday at last and time for another challenge at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge! This week Dena is our host and she has chosen the fab theme of What's Cookin? A great excuse for me to ink up the gorgeous hAnglar kitchen kit - my favourite!! I have created this card for my Brother's birthday, hence the lack of frilly bits LOL!! The papers are from The Hobby House but they were just some little scraps in my drawer so I'm afraid I can't remember who they are made by.

I've coloured the images with copics and mounted them onto some foam pads for extra dimension - I like to do this on men's cards to add a bit of interest to the card seeing as it's not really the done thing to have flowers and bows and lace everywhere!

I decided I could get away with some knotted ribbon and the cute cupcake brad though which is by Dovecraft. I added a pearl to the top of it for a chocolate drop!

I used some Hampton Arts stamps to create my letter tiles and smothered them in glossy accents.

The fabulous sentiment is from Whimsy stamps - I do love these!
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge! Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning cards! I'm off on my jolly holidays today - so excited! Our first holiday in two years so it is much needed!! There'll still be cards popping up on my blog that I've scheduled so hope you can stop by! Thanks for looking! x

email problems

Just a quick post with some information. I am experiencing major problems with my email account where a lot of my emails (maybe all of them - I have no way of knowing) are not being received by the people I'm sending them too. I just wanted to say that if you have emailed me in the last few weeks and I haven't replied then yours will be one of the missing emails as I have replied to them all. Looks like I need to set up a new email address but in the meantime, if you haven't received a reply to an email you've sent please email me again so I can help when I return from holiday. Thanks x

Whiff of Joy Challenge DT - Kylie's sketch

Woohoo! It is time for another challenge at Whiff of Joy challenge and this fortnight we have the most gorgeous sketch for you to follow by my lovely friend Kylie! I loved playing with this sketch so much!! I have used papers from MME's Hazel paper pad and another of Whiff of Joy's new mini stamps, so this card is another small one!
As soon as I saw this little bird I had the idea of putting him in a bird cage and Kylie's sketch then gave me the perfect layout for it!! I have painted the chipboard cage with white acrylic paint. The cage is by Maya Road and the brad which attaches it to the card is from Whiff of Joy.
When you swing the cage to the side you can see the cute little bird and his message!! I have hand written the I and U and the heart is a "waste" heart from a Martha Stewart punch. The punched edge was created with a Martha Stewart punch.
I have added various flowers from my stash along with a chiffon ribbon and some heart pins. The kraft leaves were cut with a Whiff of Joy die and the heart border along the edge of the card is also a Whiff of Joy die.
I added a small piece of chain above the birdcage so that it looks like it is attached. The lace and pearls are from my stash.
The "heart" word tag was a bargain find from the autumn NEC and I used some more lace to create some tails.
I Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this fortnight at Whiff of Joy Challenge! Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's amazing creations with Kylie's sketch! Thanks for looking! x

Crafts and Me DT and Deep Ocean Challenge DT

Today is my turn to host the Crafts and Me blog and also the Deep Ocean Challenge. I have combined the two on my creation. The Deep Ocean Challenge theme for this fortnight is ribbons. You may remember my summer canvas I created for last week's Crafts and Me Challenge. This is one of it's counterparts - a canvas depicting autumn.

I have used the gorgeous Noon digital image from Crafts and Me and coloured her with copics.

I have added lots of autumn details. The tiny pinecones are recycled from a flower arrangement I had. The gorgeous wooden butterfly is by Kaisercraft.

I used a Hampton Arts alphabet stamp set to create the letter tiles. I have embossed them with copper embossing powder.

As our Deep Ocean Challenge is ribbons I decided to do something a little different to a flat ribbon to really show the gorgeous bronze satin off. I have simply twisted it before attaching at each end of the canvas. The buttons are from my stash. The stamping on the edges of the canvas is a Stempelglede stamp, also embossed with bronze.

I added a gorgeous Prima flower along with various leaves from my stash and some small rosebuds. The bramble was from the same flower arrangement as the pine cones. I was so frustrated when I was making it as I knew I had kept them all for years and sadly could only find one of the little brambles - hopefully I'll find the rest somewhere and be able to add a few more!

Why not pop over to the Deep Ocean Challenge blog to see the rest of the team's stunning ribbon creations. I hope you like it thanks for looking! x

Magnolia Down Under Challenges DT - Make a Scene!

Our challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenges this week is so much fun!!! We want you to "make a scene" - no not throw a tantrum LOL but make a scene on your card :)!! This gave me the perfect opportunity to create a card I've had in my head since the summer kit arrived but I hadn't had chance to make - a 3D goal post on a card for Edwin playing football!

Here's another angle as I couldn't decide which shot I liked best LOL!

I have coloured Edwin with copics and mounted him onto foam pads so that he is in front of the grass. All the grass has been cut with a Whiff of Joy die.
I have created the goal with white cardstock and acetate, marking the net with the edge of my scoring tool dipped in stazon!!
The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps and I have stamped the rosette from the Magnolia summer kit onto red cardstock. I have added some shading to it with copics. The buttons and twine are from my stash. I have marked the lines of the football pitch with a white gel pen.
Here's the card folded down ready to go in an envelope!! Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenges! Pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous scenes! Thanks for looking! x

Another Christmas card for The Hobby House

I have another Christmas card to share today that I have made for The Hobby House using a Gillian Roberts stamp. All the papers, stamp and embellies are from The Hobby House. I am entering my card into the Stamp Something challenge which is "Christmas in July".

I have coloured the sweeet image with copics and added a touch of stickles to her dress and around their feet for some Christmas sparkle.
The sentiment is by Whimsy Stamps, available from The Hobby House. The flowers have been sprayed with pearl glimmer mist.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x
