An Album Fit For A Princess!

Warning!!! You might need a cuppa for this post, I went a bit overboard with the photos LOL!! This is an album I have decorated for display at the Hobby House, my local craft shop. The album is by Kaisercraft. I have painted all the edges with pink paint before decorating with papers all by Dream Street Papers, available from The Hobby House. I have used MS doiley lace and heart lace punches on the front. The die cut letter is from a set that matches the papers. The gems, pearls, ribbon and charm are from The Hobby House too.

The first two pages have space for a photo on the right and there is a pull out tag in the pocket on the left page for journalling.

The flower on the tag is a rub on , also from a set that matches the papers.

As well as as the alphabet die cuts there is another set available that has journalling tags and die cut shapes in. The "Todays Date" button is from that set.

I think these two pages are my favourites!!! The page on the right has a pull out tag for some journalling. You can see it half pulled out on the photo. When it is completely closed you can only see the circle "life's good" sentiment!

This is my absolute favourite bit! If you untie the bow.......
.....the sentiment circle folds back with the ribbon to reveal a little envelope.......

......which opens so that you can add a photograph!

Here's a close up of the page with the pull out tag (attached to the Life is good button).

The next two pages.

The flower centre can be written on on this page.

All the gems are from the Hobby House, the large ones are so gorgeous and incredibly sparkly as you can see!

The butterflies and sentiment are rub ons.

The arrow and journalling tag on this one are not glued down over the circle so that a photograph can be mounted onto the scalloped circle.

The back of the album is simply covered in a piece of pretty paper so that it can sit flat on a table!

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - Published!!!

Today I have the second card I made for publication in the Russian magazine, for the Whiff of Joy article. I also made a little picture tutorial to go with this one showing how I created the decoupage of the image. Again, I'm not sure if this one or yesterdays was in the magazine or maybe it was both!? Not sure if the tutorial made it in either LOL maybe if you have a copy you could let me know!! I'm afraid I can't remember who the spotty paper is made by as I used it all but I know that I cut the 25 from some paper by MME from the Glitter Christmas stack! The images were coloured with copics and layered up. I added some acetate snowflakes covered in diamond dust and some spacers and brads from my stash. The ribbon and charm are also from my stash.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Magnolia Down Under Challenge DT - Embossing

It is time for another challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenges and this week our theme is Embossing!! This can be dry embossing or heat embossing or even both if you like! I have decorated a little acetate box that had some Christmas decorations in it to make a small gift box for Valentine's Day. I have covered the box with Magnolia rose paper distressed with Tim's distressing tool and walnut stain distress ink.

I was going to use a mini Tilda with the embossed heart in the background but once I'd done the heart I changed my mind as it looks so lovely like this! I have embossed it with gold embossing powder onto white cardstock and then again onto red cardstock which I cut out and mounted on foam pads. I have created a border around the image with Magnolia doohickey lace die with kraft cardstock and inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink.
The gorgeous two tone hyrdrangea was a Christmas gift from Fran, thanks so much hun and I've teamed it with a deep burgundy one, some doohickey leaves and a heart pin from my stash.
I added some tiny roses from my stash and another gorgeous flower from Fran in the other corner! All the flowers have been sprayed with pearl glimmer mist.
Here's a peep at the side of the box. I've covered each panel of acetate individually so that you can just see the acetate at each edge. The whole image mat is raised on foam pads for some extra interest too.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenge! Pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations!! They blow me away each and every week! Thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - Published!

It's back to Christmas this morning LOL, sorry about that!! I wanted to share a card with you that I made last August can you believe!?!? The Whiff of Joy DT were lucky enough to be asked to create cards for the Russian magazine, Scrap Info Journal for a feature on Whiff of Joy and I was lucky enough to have my work featured in the Christmas edition!! I'm not entirely sure if it is this card or the other card I made that I will share tomorrow or maybe both that made it into the magazine as I haven't received my copy yet. I hope it arrives soon it looks like a gorgeous magazine and I studied Russian at school so I'd love to see if I can make head or tail of any of it LOL! I used papers from MME Glitter Christmas stack, MS heart lace punch and copics to colour the image. The snowflakes stamped around the image are from Whiff of Joy's winter 2009 kit stamped with weathered wood distress ink. The chipboard hearts were painted with pickett fence crackle paint and then inked with weathered wood distress ink. I also added a tulle bow and created a gem flourish.

I'm afraid I only took the photos I needed for the magazine and then forgot to take close ups before I sent the card out so no close up shots today! Thanks for looking! x

Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar DT - Spots and Dots meets CLP sketch

Time for another challenge at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and this week we'd like to see spots and dots on your projects!! I have used the gorgeous sketch at Crafting Life's Pieces challenge for my card. The stunning papers are by October Afternoon from The Hobby House.
I have coloured the gorgeous hAnglar skateboarding boy with copics and for a change from my usual style of shading I created a soft sky behind him and some grass beneath his feet to match the grass die cut border.

I used a sizzix die to cut the star and stapled a Tim Holtz adage ticket to it.

I added a spotty ribbon from my stash along the bottom and some die cut grass using Whiff of Joy's grass die. This card was for my little boy to give to his friend and he thought the "real" grass was great bless him!

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge. Thanks for looking! x

How great are those prizes!?!?!?!

You should have reached me from the lovely Fran's blog if you're hopping along with us but if you just happened on my post you might want to start back at the beginning to be in with a chance of those prizes! Here is my creation for the hop using the gorgeous Cherrie with Mail!!!

It is a little letter tidy!! I've had a perspex box from a charging unit kicking around in my "make something out of it" stash for a long time now with the intention of turning it into some sort of desk tidy so Cherrie with Mail was just crying out to be used on it hehehe!! I have used Tim Holtz plaque and postage die to create the postage stamp edging along the top (to tie in with the letters theme LOL) using kraft cardstock. The papers are by K&Co inked with walnut stain distress ink.

I have coloured Cherrie with copics and given her red hair seeing as it is me who sorts all the mail and bills in our house! The gorgeous flourish behind her has been cut with Tim Holtz flourishes die and the edges inked with Walnut Stain distress ink.

I have made the flower with the Magnolia Peony die and some sticky back canvas that I just HAD to get after seeing the poinsettia on Tim's 12 tags LOL. I've stamped it with a letter stamp using black versafine ink and then inked the edges with antique linen. The gorgeous pebble in the centre is by Prima.

I added another flourish at the other side of the flower and some gorgeous black lace from my stash.
Inside I made two tabs for those wonderful bills we all love to receive!

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! Now it is time to hop on over to our lovely boss Kellie's blog to see what stunning creation she has for you!! Happy Hopping and Think {PINK} x

The Sugar Bowl Challenge

It is such a long time since I entered the challenge at The Sugar Bowl!! I just had to join in with their sketch seeing as I am making a collection using Sugar Nellie stamps!!! As with the other three cards, the gorgeous papers are by Dream Street Papers from The Hobby House. The brads are from The Hobby House too.

Isn't this little boy fishing just the sweetest!?!? He's called "To catch a big fish". I've coloured him with copics and added a touch of stickles to the fish and the water. The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy's 1001 Nights collection and was just perfect for this image LOL!!! I've stamped it with weathered wood distress ink.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Another Sugar Nellie card

Another card for the collection I've been making for The Hobby House! This one was actually following the sketch at Truly Scrumptious challenge but I'm showing it too late to enter now LOL! Again the papers are by Dream Street Papers from The Hobby House.
I have coloured Isla by Sugar Nellie with copics - I love how her hair is blowing in the wind and her sweet little hat.
The ribbon and flower are from The Hobby House and the sentiment circle is a die cut from the matching die cut sheet for the papers.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x
