Whiff of Joy challenge

Here is my entry for the challenge at Whiff of Joy this week to Bev's fantastic sketch. This was so perfect for me as I have intended to make party invitations for my Son's birthday in August and bought Charlie and the banner especially to make them. I also knew I wanted to put the first letter in a circle like I did on his door hanger (which you can see further down my blog) so when I saw this sketch with the circle top left I knew it would be perfect for my invitations! I had also already bought the papers for his invitations so it didn't take too long at all to put the whole thing together. Did he love it when I showed him??? He cried bless him because I hadn't let him colour the knight in himself LOL! So I have promised to stamp him lots of Charlies and draw a castle for him to colour in instead.

I stamped and embossed the grunge circle from Stempelglede grunge collection and then cut a circle of paper and drew the gothic style P on paper with my copics and cut out (how crazy am I?) and added to the circle.

I wrote the rest of the word "party" with my calligraphy pen...I did this before I embossed it and had to scrape away some of the embossing from over the "a"....doh! will have to adjust for the other invitations!

A close up of Charlie...he's so cheeky looking I think!

A different view just because it looks cool when I've seen it on other blogs LOL! Instead of paper as one of the elements from the sketch I coloured my infamous wash tablet net bag grey with Q chalk to represent chain mail. All the elements were distressed with Brushed cord distress ink. I hope you'll forgive me for not decorating the inside but I have got another 13 to make (grimaces) so I will just be writing the party details inside in my bestest calligraphy hand of course LOL!

I'm really pleased with it....only another 13 identical ones to make......I've stamped the images and drawn the P's and cut out the circles and lost heart for the minute....anyone fancy coming round to make a few????? No???? Pleeeeaaaase! x
