Exciting news......Whiff of Joy challenge

Today I have the most exciting news to share with you.....I have been lucky enough to be chosen as one of the Whiff of Joy challenge blog's new design team members!!!!!!!!!!! I thought I would burst not being able to tell you all until today! I was so excited but so incredibly nervous that I lost my mojo and just couldn't make the card at first, I was so worried about it being good enough LOL. So I pretended I was just entering the challenge like any other week and voila! Anyway, enough of me rambling on, onto the challenge!

We have a recipe challenge for you this week at Whiff of Joy challenge, and it is to use 3 patterned papers, 3 flowers and 1 ribbon on your card. Here is my very first card as a design team member!!

I have used cute little Oakley to make this thank you card for another of my Son's teachers. He is, as usual, coloured with copics and I have distressed the edges of the shape with tattered rose distress ink and also stamped one of the spring swirls from Whiff of Joy with the same distress ink around the edges.

One of my 3 flowers is another of my hand made roses. This has been made with some gorgeous hand made paper and the edges of the petals have been coloured with tattered rose distress ink. The leaves have been punched from coredinations brown cardstock with a woodware leaf punch.

The other two of my 3 flowers are prima flowers. The twigs have been punched with MS branch punch.

Here is a close up of Oakley. I have written "thank you" with my calligraphy pen.

The inside is decorated with the same striped paper as the front and the same ribbon. I have distressed the edges and stamped another spring swirl stamp, again with tattered rose distress ink. As it is a thank you card for a teacher I thought the gorgeous bowl of apples from the Whiff of Joy summer kit was perfect for the inside, like the traditional "apple for the teacher". I have written the sentiment with my calligraphy pen, "children are born with wings, teachers help them to fly".

I borrowed my Dad's camera the other day to get a better picture of the altered container in the post below and now I don't want to give it back....the pictures are so much better and after a lot of messing on the computer I have finally fathomed out how to crop my photos so that just the card is showing!!!! Thank goodness for that, it has been bugging me so long not knowing how to do it! So there it is, my first DT card, hope you like it and it inspires you to join in with this weeks challenge! We have a fantastic prize this week too, one lucky person will win Shy Willow from the summer kit! x

check out the other 4 new team members' blogs too!
