Whiff of Joy blog hop coming soon!!!

Whiff of Joy is almost a year old and to celebrate Katharina will be hosting a blog hop on the 25th July!!! As if this wasn't exciting enough she is running a guest designer call on her blog and will be choosing 15 lucky people to be a guest designer for the blog hop. How amazing is that!!! She has provided a sketch which is absolutely stunning, I had so much fun doing this card. I have used the sketch to make a card for my Mum from my Dad.

I have wanted this Musing Melinda stamp for ages as I think it is adorable and finally treat myself to it on Saturday. Luckilly she was the perfect size to fit into a circle as per the sketch! I have coloured her with copics and added stickles to the wings and the little gem on her bracelet. The edges of the circle are distressed with tattered rose distress ink and the swirls from the spring swirls kit are stamped with it too. I have then added some lace around the circle.

Instead of 5 buttons for the elements of the sketch I have used a butterfly, 3 flowers and a button. The butterfly I have cut from the same paper as the background of the card and stamped a spring swirl stamp with faded jeans distress ink, I have then added some wire antennae and some half pearls.

The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy stamped with tattered rose distress ink and I have added some glimmer to the tag and then attached it with a pearl button. I have also added one of my favourite embellishments of some curled wire with pearls weaving through the flowers.

The inside is decorated with the same papers as the front and I have kept with the circle theme. As it is for my Dad to give to my Mum I have stamped the swirl heart from the spring swirls kit and distressed and stamped the circle edges the same as the front, and added a couple of flowers.

I have then written "to my darling wife on your birthday" with my calligraphy pen.

Images: Musing Melinda and heart from Whiff of Joy coloured with copics

Papers: Kaiserscrapbook Vagabond

Flowers: Prima hydrangeas

Brads etc: from stash

Other equipment: clear stickles, distress inks in tattered rose and faded jeans, calligraphy pen
