Whiff of Joy challenge

We have a gorgeous sketch for you at Whiff of Joy challenge this week by the talented Katharina. Here is my take on the sketch. There are lots of lovely layers, just right for a vintage distressed look I think so I have distressed all the edges of my papers with scissors (must get a distressing tool LOL) and brushed cordoruy distress ink.

I have coloured Willow with copics and stamped a Stempelglede grunge stamp around the edges of the image and distressed with the same ink. The sentiment is from the Whiff of Joy summer kit also and this has been stamped and distressed with brushed cordoruy distress ink too.

The flower I have punched from the same papers (Basic Grey sugared collection) and I have stamped part of the grunge stamp onto the large flower also.

I have stitched the two background mats together and then pulled the stitching open at the top for a further distressed look.

I do not own any edge punches (shock horror!!!) so I have punched flowers with the same paper and then glued them to the back of the paper so that only 3 of the petals are showing. I have then added some crystals to each middle petal.

A different view so that you can see all the layers. I have left the ends of my lace frayed and you can just see that I have added curls of green wire to represent tendrils of a strawberry plant and the strawberry above the flower is attached to the wire to give a further dimension to the whole thing.

Inside I have copied the first layer of the sketch but resized the elements and I have again stamped a Stempelglede grunge stamp in the middle of the brown paper and around the edges of the cream paper and distress them all again with scissors and distress ink. I've then added a couple more strawberries and some flowers. The sentiment I have written with my calligraphy pen.

I took my photos in the garden as it was so hot and sunny the lighting was fantastic! So here is a little pic of the card in the garden just because I thought it looked really at home there LOL!

I hope you can join us for this week's challenge! Pop over to the Whiff of Joy challenge blog and see the rest of the team's gorgeous cards! x
