Whiff of Joy challenge - Teal and Orange

This week's challenge at Whiff of Joy is a colour challenge to use Teal and Orange, and we also have a fantastic prize this week which is a surprise stamp from Katharina! I love these two colours together, I have teal wallpaper in part of my kitchen and have a vase with a single orange gerbera against it and it looks gorgeous! It gave me a little inspiration for this card as my wallpaper has a silver motif on it which led me to silver emboss parts of the card.

The whole card was made from Teal coloured card, folded to make three sections. I have used my MS doiley lace punch along the front edge and added another layer underneath it. This lace section tucks under a small flap on the other side of the card (hidden underneath the rose) to close the card.

Here you can see the little half circle flap that keeps the card closed behind the rose.

This is my favourite stamp from the new autumn collection! As usual I have coloured her with copics, and the edges of the image have been distressed with antique linen distress ink.

I have added pearl glimmer mist to the roses, they look gorgeous covered in glimmer don't they?

I stamped a gorgeous swirl from the Stempelglede grunge flourish hearts set and embossed it in silver. The gorgeous paper with teal dots is from K&Co's Wild Saffron collection. My little boy picked me some lavender from our garden and it was on the table as I was making this and it looked so lovely with the teal and orange I decided to add a sprig behind the rose, so the card smells lovely too LOL!

Here is the card fully open. The circle in the centre has been distressed with antique linen distress ink and stamped with a grunge stamp.

The scallop behind the circle has been created using punched flowers. and I have also added a little flower, sprayed with pearl glimmer mist, and some branches.

On the left you can see the row of doily lace edging from the front is double edged and can be seen on the inside too. The sentiment in silver is "To Brighten your day" from the Whiff of Joy summer stamp kit.

On the right hand side I have again stamped and embossed the Stempelglede swirl.

Another view so that you can see the layers more effectively! x

I hope you like it and can join in with this weeks challenge! The rest of the DT have made some fabulous creations as usual, do pop and have a look!
