Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween everyone!! These are two little treat bags I whipped up VERY quickly last night after being ill all day with a horrible tummy bug my Son has kindly brought home from school bless him. I had intended downloading a witch image, etc, etc but was so ill I completely forgot so had to go with the only thing I had, Whiff of Joy pumpkins from the Fall Kit LOL!
They're coloured with copics and I drew some scary pumpkin carvings on them, also drew the ghosts and boo on the handle of the bigger one.....like I said..... extreme rush job but the kids loved them anyway!
I also drew the cobwebs and then covered them and all the edges with stickles. Completed with a touch of orange ribbon from my stash! Thanks for looking have a spooktacular halloween! x

Lili of the Valley and Just Magnolia challenges

My Mum asked me to make a card for her to give to my Dad....hmmmm, I have to say this was quite difficult as I don't really have any stamps for male birthday and she didn't want it too slushy.....she hasn't seen it yet, hope she likes it! I used the gorgeous sketch over at Lili of the Valley by Marcea and also the monochrome theme at Just Magnolia.

Tilda with Hearts has been coloured with copics and is carrying chocolate hearts for the brown theme LOL! Two of my brown copics ran out while colouring this image, I've got four run out now, think it is time to restock, they're my main colours! Annoying how they all go at once!

I stamped a Stempelglede grunge heart in brushed cordoruy distress ink and a Stempelglede grunge stamp around the edges in antique linen. The little sentiment tags I made myself and have threaded them and some buttons onto some hemp string.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Magnolia Christmas Card - Magnolia Ink competition

At long last I can show you the card I entered into the weekend challenge that Magnolia ran for its' new magazine Magnolia Ink. I got my copy on Wednesday and wow!!!! it is so gorgeous! Huge congratulations to the DT, every creation is stunning it truly is and there are some gorgeous things to make too! Congratulations to the lucky winner and runners up too!
I used the gorgeous Tilda and Edwin skating stamp and the New Year Swirl stamp for around the edges.
As there was such an amazing prize at stake I thought I'd make an extra special card for my hubby, although now I've ordered the winter kit I might have to make another with the gorgeous new ones LOL! The poinsettias are from a Prima Christmas bubble and I have added gold beads to the centres.

The card opens out to reveal another image, behind the one on the front, set inside a Stempelglede grunge heart embossed in gold. Also, between the two layers of images is a pocket in which is a tag for a private message. The poinsettia on the front of the card is actually attached to the tag not the card!

This is how it looks when you take the tag out. I embossed two Stempelglede hearts, again in gold and overlapped them on top of the BP on one side of the tag.....

The other side of the tag has been stamped with the New Year Swirl stamp from Magnolia and I have hand written both sentiments with my calligraphy pen. All the edges have been distressed with antique linen distress ink.

Thanks for looking! x

The Sugar Bowl Challenge - Kathy's sketch

Here is my entry to the Sugar Bowl challenge to 's gorgeous sketch. I made this card in a rush as I suddenly realised I needed a young girl's card for my Son to take to a party and in my rush I forgot the please include of lace :(. Oh well, teach me to rush!!

I used the gorgeous Bumble Bee Gorjuss Girl as I think she is just perfect for a little girl's card. I have coloured her with copics and added lots of glitter glue onto the skirt of her dress for lots of girly sparkle!
The flowers have been punched with an EK success punch and the middles I was incredibly lucky enough to win in Bev's recent candy that she ran on behalf of Moira!

I couldn't resist adding two gorgeous butterflies punched with my MS monarch butterfly punch, completed with some gems down the middle!

Thank you so much for looking!! x

Whiff of Joy challenge - Red, Cream and another colour

Yay it's Wednesday again and that means another challenge at Whiff of Joy Challenge blog!! This week we have a colour combination for you, red, cream and another colour. I have chosen purple as I love red and purple together...totally gorgeous!!! I decided to have a go at an easel card, will have to make more of these they are so effective!

It had to be a Christmas card with these rich colours and so I have inked up the super cute Henry with Bauble again. I love colouring the bauble and making it look nice and shiney! I've used a mixture of papers, the gorgeous cream and red spotty paper is My Minds Eye and the purple and red papers are from Basic Grey Euphoria collection. I have also used some gemstones cardstock.

I had great fun on Thursday visiting Hobby Craft for the first time....oooohhh I didn't want to leave!!!! The gorgeous rose and the little spray are both from there, the rose has been spritzed with glimmer mist.

The sentiments have been put together with some rub on letters and I have glimmer misted the "with love".

As the base of the easel closes under the card when folded I couldnt' add too much decoration, just a couple of star charms which I have snipped the rings from and a swirl of gems. I have left space for a message underneath the "at Christmas".

This is how the card looks when it is closed. Hope you like it and can join us this week, have a look at the rest of the DT's creations they are truly stunning! x

Just Magnolia challenge

There is a gorgeous sketch at Just Magnolia challenge this week by Martine and this is my entry. I just loved working with this sketch thank you!

I used the gorgeous skating Tilda and Edwin, coloured with copics and I've added ivory flower soft to the trims on their outfits and I have added stickles around the edge of the image.

I stamped the Magnolia new years swirl stamp on the BP and embossed with gold for a lovely rich Christmas look and added some gorgeous lace from my stash.

The gorgeous burgundy rose is from Hobby Craft and the small ones are from Wild Orchid Crafts, all have been spritzed with glimmer mist. The branches have been punched from white gemstones cardstock with MS branch punch.

I used MS doiley lace punch along the edges of the cream paper and I stitched a random double wavey pattern along the middle. The sentiment I have written myself onto some of the cream paper and added stickles around the edge.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking, enjoy your Tuesday! x

Colour Create and Friday Sketchers challenges

Morning all! Phew finally had time to make a card! I've been very busy reorganising my craft space and the rest of my house after a looooonnnngg trip to Ikea LOL! It is all really neat and tidy now and everything is easy to find and I have a gorgeous comfy chair too! Finally I can start to get the house back to normal after the extension building work! Anyway, on to my card. I have made this to the gorgeous sketch over at Friday Sketchers challenge which I have turned on its side, and also for the Colour Create Challenge which I loved this week which was to use all white except your image. It was great fun getting out all the white things I have and deciding how to put them together!

I have used the gorgeous Musing Melinda stamp from Whiff of Joy, I just love her and think she can be adapted to so many different occasions. I've coloured her with copics and then stitched and distressed the edges with antique linen distress ink before adding some stickles to the edge.
I have distressed all the edges and stitched around them on this gorgeous distressed white paper from Basic Grey sugared paper pad. I have stitched a swirly pattern onto the paper for some added texture and interest and then dotted half pearls here and there on the swirls. Instead of paper for one of the elements of the sketch I have used a strip of tulle so that the stitching is still visible.
All the flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts and have been spritzed with glimmer mist.
Thanks for looking and have a lovely Monday! x

Friday Sketchers challenge

Morning! There is an absolutely gorgeous sketch over at Friday Sketchers this week, I love it and am planning on using it again, thank you!

I have been practising and practising with the distress inks and as you can see have used another image using them on this card. What to do you think? I think it is a bit better than the previous ones, getting there slowly! My little boy got out of bed while I was colouring this and he said "oh no Mummy that poor girl hasn't got a mouth!! You'll have to draw one won't you or she won't be able to talk!" LOL, bless him for noticing, I love the funny things children come out with! I have stamped a Stempelglede grunge stamp around the edges and added stickles around the image and on the spots on her dress and her bow as it is a Christmas card, can't have enough glitter!

All the edges have been distressed with tearing and brushed cordoruy distress ink. The sentiment has been done with some rub on letters.
I have used bits of a gorgeous Prima swirl entwined with my flowers which are from a Prima Christmas bubble, the middle of my flowers are tiny gold beads.

I've taken a photo with the card tilted so that you can see all the glitter, it is so gloomy here today I'm struggling to get a decent photo! Thanks for looking and I hope you like it! x

Whiff of Joy challenge DT card - Heather's sketch

We have a gorgeous sketch for you this week at Whiff of Joy challenge designed by our wonderful Heather! Isn't it just stunning! I loved using it so much Heather thank you! As soon as I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to use it to make a new baby card for some friends of ours who just had their little blue bundle! I thought it was perfect to use lots of the baby phrases from the baby sentiments set from Whiff of Joy.
I have wanted this stamp for ages but decided to be good and wait until I actually needed it so I was so excited when my Husband said they'd had their little boy.....perfect excuse!!! I just adore the looks on both faces and all the swaths of her dress. I have, of course, coloured the image with copics and distressed the edges with antique linen distress ink and also stamped a Stempelglede stamp around the edges with faded jeans distress ink.

The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy, again stamped with faded jeans and the edges are distressed with the same ink too. I stamped "it's a boy!" onto the ribbon too which looked great when I first stamped it but then unfortunately the ink spread as it dried :( seemed like a good idea at the time!

The nappy pin I made myself by dipping the end of a safety pin into white paint, I'm so pleased with how it turned out! The cute little baby shoe charm is from the Hobby House.

The blossom flower was white but I have inked the edges with distress ink and then sprayed it with pearl glimmer mist.

The inside is decorated with off cuts of the papers I used on the front, all of which have been stitched...I got my Nanas' old sewing machine out.....it is very old and very heavy but did the job! Must get myself a lighter, newer version though! I used part of the image inside a circle and used another of the sentiments from the Whiff of joy baby sentiments set, it says "Congratulations on your bundle of joy".

Hope you like it and can join in with the challenge! Thanks for looking! x
