***********HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!!**********
Woohoo! 2010! doesn't seem two minutes since that exciting 2000 New Year does it!? Hope you're not too hung over from last night's celebrations! The first day of the year and my first card and challenge of the year is our new challenge at the Crafty Calendar Challenge. This month we challenge you to make a card/project to do with "keeping warm" with the added option of including texture. You can choose to portray the theme any way you choose, warm colours, an image about keeping warm, whatever you like! Here is my sample card for your inspiration. I have chosen to use warm colours and sentiment and images about keeping warm. What better way to keep warm than with a nice big mug of hot chocolate and marshmallows like little Henry from Whiff of Joy?
The papers are by K&Co and have been distressed with tearing and sponged with vintage photo distress ink.
I have coloured Henry with large mug with copics. As I'm sure you know this is one of the Christmas stamps but you'll notice I have not inked the holly decorations on the mug before I stamped the image so that I could use the stamp for this birthday card! Love it when you can use Christmas stamps for something else don't you?
The flowers have been punched from coordinating K&Co paper with two sizes of EK success retro flower punches and I have sponged the edges with vintage photo. The gorgeous spacer is from the Hobby House. The pearls were pale turquoise and I have coloured them with E08 copic ti match the papers.
