Yay!!! It's Friday and that means it's time for another challenge at Just Magnolia. Firstly thank you all for your amazing pleating cards...looks like you all loved Mina's fabby tutorial as much as we did!! We reached 1000 followers this week too! wooooohoooo!!!! how incredible is that, thank you all so much. I reached a little milestone on my own blog too as yesterday I reached 200 followers!!! I can't believe it, thank you to each and every one of you! Which leads me nicely onto our theme for this week of "Thank You" cards. Lot's of these required at this time of year for all those Christmas presents and here's mine.
I have used the Magnolia lace paper, love their papers they are so thick, great for distressing! I have torn them all and distressed with walnut stain distress ink. I have stitched the edges too.
Isn't this Tilda from the Winter/Christmas kit adorable???? Oh I love her, I think she is my favourite, mostly because my little girl squats down like that to do things hehe!! Obviously she is dripping sealing wax so I decided to make a little brown envelope for her to be standing on and sealing. It is made from parcel paper and I have inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink before glueing it together. Tilda is coloured with distress inks and I have added red luster rub on to the sealing wax so that it looks more realistic - it is nice and shimmery in real life but doesn't look so with the winter light we have to photograph with! The circle behind Tilda is some gold cardstock which I have punched with a small hole punch and flower punch to create a punched edge and distressed with walnut stain.
The flowers are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, sprayed with glimmer mist and the leaves have been punched with a Woodware punch and sponged with walnut stain distress ink.
The lace bow is from my stash and dotted around the card I have used the punched out flowers from the circle (waste not want not LOL) with tiny pearl middles from the Hobby House.
The tiny brads are Tim Holtz and I have hand written the sentiment with my calligraphy pen.
