Just Magnolia Special Monthly challenge - Pleating by Mina

Woohoo!!! It's Friday and time for our first challenge of the year at Just Magnolia. Thank you for all your wonderful entries to Mina's sketch, they were gorgeous! Today it is our special monthly challenge and this month we have a fabulous tutorial for you by our lovely Mina who is showing you how to do paper pleating. This was something I had never done before myself and I just loved it, thanks Mina!! This is such a gorgeous addition to a card and I will definitely be using it again. I have used some gorgeous Kaisercraft papers that are double sided. For my pleat I decided to also punch the edges with my MS doiley lace punch to a lacey frill. I then inked the edges of the pleat with Walnut stain distress ink and added some brown ribbon where the two pleats join.
I have made a little scene for my card with three stamps from the Magnolia winter/christmas kit. I love the piano it is so cute and I'm not really sure what Tilda is supposed to be doing but she looked like she was sat on something reaching up so I have sat her on the piano and then stamped the ribbon stamp twice above her so it hopefully looks like she is decorating the ribbons. I have coloured the images with distress inks, been having a play with the new colours I got for Christmas.
I have then added stickles to the hearts and Tilda's little cone of hearts and stamped the New Year swirl stamp from Magnolia around the edges of the oval with antique linen ink.
A close up of the pleating. I have added three gorgeous flowers, all from Wild Orchid crafts and sprayed with pearl glimmer mist. I also added a couple of gem headed pins from my stash.
Hope you like it and can join us this week at Just Magnolia. Do pop and have a look at Mina's tutorial and the rest of the DT work, you won't be disappointed. Before I go I'd also like to say a big thank you to all of you who helped with my 6x6" cards question yesterday, you're so kind. I've got some on their way now! x
