Magnolia Ink sketch contest - I came 2nd place!!!!

Here is the creation I have to show you that I made back in November for the Magnolia Ink sketch contest............I was thrilled to discover that they had given me 2nd place and published it in the magazine!!!!! I was still recovering from seeing my double page spread when I flicked through and was hit by another whammy!! (still haven't come back down to earth yet, sorry LOL) I used the sketch to make a valentine's card for my hubby. He knows it got 2nd place but refuses to look at this page of the magazine as he still wants it to be a surprise LOL! (bless!) The papers are Magnolia's vanilla dots, Bo Bunny St Nick's sleigh and Sandylion valentine words. All have been distressed and sponged with brushed cordoruy distress ink and stitched.

I love this Tilda, I think she is my all time favourite!! She is Lazy summer day Tilda, I've coloured her with distress inks and used gold flock for her wings. I stamped the new years swirl from Magnolia around the edges with antique linen distress ink and stickled over the top.
The large heart is from Tim Holtz grungeboard elements set, painted with picket fence crackle paint, distressed with brushed cordoruy distress ink and sprayed with glimmer mist. I wrapped some jute string around it, tied with a bow and hung a heart charm from it. The heart charm was silver (from the Hobby House) but I coloured it gold with Lionet Gold copic. I added lots of roses, the pink and red small ones are all from Wild Orchid Crafts, sprayed with glimmer mist and a touch of stickles.
The large red rose is from Hobby Craft, also glimmered and stickled!

The gorgeous Sandylion paper has a lovely gold swirl and lots of valentine sentiments. I added some cotton lace along the edge.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x
