Simon Says Stamp challenge - punch it!

There is another fabulous challenge at Simon Says Stamp this week - to use punches. This really got me thinking!! I was going to use my new punch around the page punch, then I thought, "wouldn't it be great if you could get a punch that punched the inside of apertures!?". So I decided to use punches inside an aperture to create this card....I was trying to create the look of those old carved ivory panels that are really intricate - do you know what I mean?? Anyway, I'm really pleased with how this turned out and will be doing this again I'm sure - it was great fun!
I have used a linen textured white cardstock and cut out a circle from the centre. I then used lots of different punches to create leaves, flowers and butterflies from the piece I'd cut out and inked all the edges with vintage photo distress ink, then glued them together around the aperture to create my "carved ivory" look.

Here's a closer look. I have used: EK success retro flower punch; Xcut small daisy punch; Woodware leaf punch and MS Monarch butterfly punch. I have added some tiny pearls from the Hobby House to the flower centres. Looking through we can see this gorgeous Sarah Kay stamp inside the card.

In each corner I have stamped the Stempelglede grunge corner with antique linen distress ink for some added interest and aged around the edge of the whole card with vintage photo distress ink.

The gorgeous hydrangeas are from Prima and the pearl brads are from the Hobby House.
The Sarah Kay image is coloured with distress inks. The papers are BoBunny and have been distressed with vintage photo distress ink.
This is how the card looks when it is open. I have covered the reverse of the aperture with the BoBunny paper also.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x
