Simon Says Stamp challenge DT card - What's love got to do with it?

Woohoo!!!! Time for another challenge at Simon Says Stamp and this week Heidi has very generously put together this collection of goodies for the lucky winner ON TOP OF the usual prize of a $25 voucher for Simon Says Stamp!!!!! The challenge this week is "what's love got to do with it". Nice and easy one, especially if you haven't finished your valentine's cards yet! I have finished mine (unless I get a last minute order LOL) so decided to make a wedding card for my cousin who is getting married soon.

I have used the gorgeous wedding carriage from the Whiff of Joy wedding and baby collection, coloured with distress inks. I had the idea for this card while making my Valentine's cards. I had so many hearts on my desk from using my MS heart lace punch that it looked like someone had been throwing confetti.......and so that's what I've done with them! The image is on the inside of the card and the front has an acetate panel which I have stamped in each corner with white Stazon and then added the hearts, punched from pearlescent card to look like confetti around the happy couple.

Here is the inside without the acetate front. I made a frame for the image using some Basic Grey paper. I have stamped some Stempelglede grunge stamps in weathered wood and walnut stain distress inks and sponged the edges with walnut stain also. I then added some gorgeous lace to soften the effect.

I have added gold liquid pearls to the centres of the flowers on the image. The background has been painted with weathered wood distress ink.

Here you can see the front of the card in more detail. I have stamped a grunge corner stamp from Stempelglede with white stazon in each corner to give an etched glass effect and then added the punched hearts randomly to resemble confetti. The left hand border has been punched with MS heart lace punch in ivory pearlescent card and I have added pearls in gold and ivory.

All of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and have been sprayed with pearl glimmer mist. The leaves have been punched with a woodware punch. I have mounted the flower spray onto some tulle tied with ivory ribbon.

The card when it is open.......

........and stood up for display.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking. Hope you can join us this week for a chance to win that fantastic prize and please pop over to the challenge blog to see the amazing work from the rest of the team! x

P.S. I heard back about the stamps £49 in total - perhaps a bit pricey for two sets of stamps me thinks especially at the moment !!!!
