Oh I'm so happy (and so sad in a broody kind of way - you know where you don't want them to grow up LOL!) that today is my gorgeous little girl's 2nd birthday. Happy Birthday Kara!!! I really can't believe it. I can still remember so clearly those first minutes when she was born and it just can't be two years ago!!! So here we go with the terrible twos although I think she started them about a month ago LOL! This is the card I made for her. I'm not happy with it at all but hubby loves it and wouldn't let me make another. I've had so much trouble with it because I fell in love with this gorgeous scallop edged Bo Bunny 12x12 paper and thought it was perfect for a little girl's card, but, I didn't want to lose the scallops so had to set about quartering the paper which then meant I had ugly joins I had to cover. This in turn meant that I had to place embellishments and things in certain places rather than exactly where I wanted and so I really don't like this card and I wanted it to be so special :(.
Anyway, enough moaning and onto the details LOL! One of the joins is covered with the heart punched border running across the card which I've punched from a coordinating paper from the range. The pink stitched ribbon is by Oscrap. Look at the little birds and birdbox, this is why I fell in love with the paper! You can't really tell on the photos but I have gone over all the little flowers with stickles.
I just had to buy this little cutie especially for the card. A friend stamped me some (thanks Nicki) but I messed them up as I wasn't used to the paper I stamped them on - great excuse to buy the stamp right LOL!? I've coloured her with distress inks and added stickles to all the lacey bits on her heart staff and teelly boppers - oh wow do you remember teelly boppers? LOL that has just reminded me that mine were silver glittered hearts!!!! that must be why I love this Tilda so much! My brother had green glittered stars LOL! Sorry I'm really going on today, must be the exitement LOL!
The red flowers are cut from the reverse of the blue heart paper and the rest have been punched using EK success punches. I stuck the "waste" hearts from my border onto the petals of the pink punched flowers. The leaves were punched with a Woodware punch and the butterflies a MS punch.
I've hung a chipboard number in the large heart aperture which I inked with victorian velvet distress ink.
and finally here is my little darling when she was just a few hours old - OMG look at her adorable little wrinkly fingers!!
and this was her yesterday with her big brother! (and soup in her fringe LOL)
Hope you like the card more than I do LOL and thanks for looking! x

Hi Jane
Happy 2nd Birthday Kara. Jane I love your card today, and I am positive Kara will love it, your husband was right to tell you not to make another one. You so remind me of myself, I too brought this Tilda for my granddaughter's 4th Birthday card. I spent hours & hours on the card, I did every side of the card (4 in total), and I was very very critical, saying to my husband that I was not sure that she would like it, I said that I was thinking about starting a new one. My husband told me that she would love it, and that I was to stop being so critical of my work, and that if I didn't send it to her (as she live's in France), that he would post it himself lol. My biggest problem with my card's that I send to my granddaughter's in France, is because card's are a rarity in France these card's are shown to everyone, they take them to school for day's on end. They then sit on the mantlepiece for at least a month, where any visitors to the house scrutinize them (including the cleaning lady), so I feel they have to be as good as I can make them lol.
Hugs
