Magnolia Down Under Challenge - a recipe

Morning everyone!!! It's time for another challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenge! Thank you all for your amazing Easter cards, they were so gorgeous!!! Just a reminder to change the blog address in your follower's list if you haven't already done so as the Magnolia Down Under Challenge blog has moved to blogger! (My link above will take you to where you need to be!) This week we have a recipe challenge for you - 3 papers, 3 flowers, 2 buttons and 1 bow!! My card is quite different from my normal style as you can see but I just fell in love with the gorgeous flowery Cosmos Cricket paper and really didn't feel that it would suite vintage! I have made my own version of a pocket card from a tutorial I found on Split Coast Stampers. I had to modify it so that I could have the two sides of the paper showing exactly where I needed them.

The red and yellow flowers are from my stash and the white stylised flower I made myself to try and link it with the flowers on the papers. Not quite sure about it now though LOL, I did a rough version with scrap paper and then made this one and of course the rough version looks better!! I have added gems to the small flowers and a pearl brad and spacer from the Hobby House to the large flower.

The gorgeous bird paper is part of a MME paper and was a perfect match for the Cosmo Cricket paper, giving me my three papers for the recipe.

I have added lots of leaves punched with a Woodware punch along the edges of my pockets. The idea is that Tilda and Edwin are playing hide and seek in the garden.

Tilda and Edwin are both from the winter kit and have been coloured with distress inks. I've added some stickles to Edwin's wings and Tilda's dress. This card is for my children to give my Mum on Mother's Day, so the two images represent my children, and......

They pull out of their respective hiding places to reveal large tags. My children are going to each do a handprint on their tag so that my Mum has a reminder of how small their hands were on Mother's Day this year!

I have decorated the inside with some more of the papers and leaves to match the front and Tilda and Edwin are there again. My little boy is going to write Happy Mother's Day Grandma in the white area as he loves that he can write and spell some words himself, bless him.

Hope I have inspired you to join us this week and can't wait to see what you do with the recipe. Thanks for looking! x
