StampARTic challenge

Thank you all so much for your birthday wishes for Kara, you're all so lovely!!! I'm so glad you all liked the card, so did everyone who visited the house yesterday! We had a brilliant day and Kara and Connor both had so much fun it was wonderful! Here is the card I want to share with you today.

I really wanted to join in the StampARTic challenge this week as it really is a challenging colour combination! (well actually I always want to but never have the time LOL). The challenge is to make an Easter card and use lilac, dark blue and black with a hint of yellow and green!! My first problem was when I discovered I haven't a single piece of lilac paper in my stash - can you believe that??? - I couldn't, it obviously isn't my colour! So I set about creating my own using a plain piece of pale pink paper, some stamps, distress ink and embossing powder and this was the result!
I think it was too sunny when I took this LOL the actual colour is how it looks on the card photos!
I used this cute little Hanglar & Stanglar image and coloured her with distress inks and added some glimmer mist to her clothes, hat and shoes. I stamped a Stempelglede grunge stamp around the edge with faded jeans distress ink to link in with the dark blue cardstock.

The large rose I made myself with my EK success punch and a rose from Wild Orchid Crafts in the centre. The two small roses are also from WOC. The leaves are my touch of green and have been punched using a McGill punch. The butterfly is obviously my touch of yellow. It is a Hero Arts stamp and I've coloured it with distress inks.
I created my own crystal swirls using gems from the Hobby House and here you can also see some of the details on the paper I made.
I wrote the sentiment myself with my calligraphy pen and stamped around it with the Stempelglede flourish stamp and added stickles. I punched the circle with a Woodware punch.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x
