Magnolida Down Under challenge

We have a brilliant challenge for you at Magnolia Down Under challenge this week, I loved it so much, and I'm sure you will too! It is "olden days" ie: black and white image and coloured papers. I have used some gorgeous Magnolia papers from the yummy in my tummy collection which I managed to get at the NEC. They've all been distressed with vintage photo distress ink.

I decided that my new Tilda with tulips would look good in black and white. I've coloured her with black soot distress ink and have painted the whole image mat to look like an old photograph. I then distresed the edges of my "photograph" with vintage photo - cool eh? The silver photo corners were cut with a sizzix die I got free with my Big Shot - I'm so loving playing with this it is brill!
The idea of my card is that someone is looking at some bits and bobs in a keepsake box so I thought this scrap of paper from a K&Co sheet was perfect to go with it. I've used the cracked glass technique on it. The gorgeous pale teal flower is from Prima and the little roses are from Wild Orchid crafts, all sprayed with glimmer mist.
The large gardenia is from Wild Orchid crafts too and I've added some branches using my MS branch punch.
I've made a photo frame using nesties and a MS punch around the page punch, as though someone is about to frame this old photo of Tilda. The stamp is recycled from my mail and I thought it went well as a bit of memorabillia and the colours matched too!
Also in Tilda's keepsake box are some pearl earings (buttons from the Hobby House LOL) and a necklace (a heart charm, also from the Hobby House on some chain LOL). I think I might actually stick the card onto a box to use as a keepsake box rather than give it away as I really love it!

Hope I've inspired you to try this challenge, I really enjoyed colouring in black and white! Pop and have a look at the rest of the inspiration from the amazing DT! x

Awww what a beautiful theme, it makes me think of sitting with my granny and going through her keepsake box, remembering how she would let me touch her little bits of jewelery and tell me stories about all the people in the black and white photos - absolutely wonderful card Jane TFS XXX
