Magnolia Down Under challenge - Paper Tole

Well, it's Sunday already in Australia which means it is time for another challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenge and I have to say I LOVED this challenge! This week we want you to use the paper tole technique (what's that? do you ask LOL? - I had to look it up and it turned out it is another name for making your images 3D by making your own decoupage!!). I'm really pleased with my card even though I do say so myself LOL! As soon as I saw this bubble blowing Tilda I could see this card in my head to have the bubbles on acetate and cut the acetate to form one big bubble! I have used the colour challenge at Colour Create who want to see aqua, brown, khaki and cream. They also have an option of circles so my card fits that criteria too!
Here is a close up of Tilda and the bubbles. I have stickled them all to look like real bubbles and then stickled around the edge of the acetate circle to make that look more like a bubble.

Here's a close up to show the 3D effect. I used the complete Tilda stamp for the first layer. The second layer I used all of her except the flowing bit of hair, the back wing and her back leg. The final layer I just used her dress and front wing.
Here's another angle - I love how her wings look with this technique!! I used lots of stickles on her dress and wings and bubble blower as she just looks so ethereal to me like she would be almost invisible and sparkley (my imagination runs riot LOL!).
The gorgeous teal flower is a camelot rose from Prima and all the rest of the flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts. All have been sprayed with glimmer mist. I added a couple of pearl pins from my stash too.
The stunning swirls were cut with Tim Holtz flourish die on gold pearlescent card. There are lots of tiny butterflies dotted around. These were punched from the background paper with MS butterfly punch around the page punch. I simply cut them of the edging strip the punch creates, following the curve of the wings. They make the cutest little butterflies!

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Magnolia Down Under challenge. Don't forget there are a lot of exciting things happening this week at Kellie's store - now called Tickled Pink Stamps instead of Magnolia Down Under - lots of sneak peeks of her own stamp range!!! She is now selling stamps internationally again too! Thanks for looking! x
