Just Magnolia - special monthly challenge - Criss cross cards

Woohoo! It is time for another special monthly challenge at Just Magnolia and this time we'd like to see you make a criss cross card. If you're not sure how to make one check out this tutorial! At long last I have used the Tilda with Apple stamp (aka Snow White LOL) from the spring set. I can't tell you how many times I have gone to use this image, coloured it all up in the Walt Disney Snow White colours and hated it. I just couldn't seem to get the blue and red to look OK to me as they're not really my colours! After a little internet browse I came across an original poster for the film from 1937 I think it was and on that her dress was red and yellow - yippee for me!! Therefore, she is coloured in these colours and I have tried to make the card look like an old fairytale book.

I've coloured her with copics and added some stickles to the white trims of her dress.

My image is attached to a band of cardstock that slides off so that the card can be opened. I have attached the flowers to the band and the image so that they slide away with it. The flower with the brad is one I've made up using lots of small paper flowers from my stash.

I have added some lace to the band and an apple brad from the Hobby House attached with a brad and jute string.

The card opens to reveal Longing Tilda, again coloured with copics. All the papers are from MME Bella Bella paper stack except the book page paper which is from Magnolia.

Tilda is leaning on a Hero Arts sentiment that was in a DT parcel from the lovely Heidi at Simon Says Stamp. It is stamped with frayed burlap distress ink.

I've stamped the edges of the paper on the pull out message card with a Stempelglede grunge stamp using fired brick distress ink. I stamped Longing Tilda in frayed burlap on the book page. The pull tab was created with a fancy tag folded in half and some brads and spacers.

Hope you like it and can join us this week at Just Magnolia! Pop and have a look at the rest of my amazing teamies' creations, they're truly stunning! Thanks for looking! x
