Magnolia Down Under Challenge DT - use newspaper

Time for another Magnolia Down Under Challenge!!! This week we would like you to use a bit of newspaper on your card/creation! I have used Friday Sketcher's sketch for my card and the papers are from MME La Paperie stack, distressed with Walnut Stain distress ink.

I decided to colour an older Tilda which was stamped by one of my lovely blogging friends for me. I've coloured her with distress inks and added a sentiment from a Hero Arts set along the side with frayed burlap distress ink.

I was originally going to make some newspaper flowers for the challenge but then thought it would be nice to make a felt flower to match Tilda's hat as to me it looks like the flower on her hat would be felt LOL. I cut out the flower by hand and inked the felt with fired brick distress ink to match the one on the image and I've drawn on the blanket stitch with a black permanent marker. Papertake Weekly want to see some form of stitching so I'm entering my card there too! The button and thread are from my stash, as is the ribbon. The leaves I've cut out freehand from newspaper and inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink before creasing and bending them for a more realistic shape. I used MS daisy edge punch along the edge of one of the papers and added a scrap of lace from my stash to finish.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to get ripping those newspapers up to join us at Magnolia Down Under Challenge! You HAVE to go and see what the rest of the amazing DT girls have done with their newspapers - totally fabulous!! Thanks for looking! x

Hi Jane
another stunning card, love the felt flower (reminded me that I have a stack of felt flowers I need to use). I was looking at your Tilda thinking what a shame it is an old one (as I would love one), and low and behold when I checked my Tilda box there she was (I forgot I had her) lol.

Hi Jane
I just re-read your post (as I loved your card so much) regarding your felt flower, you say you cut it out by hand, (is there no end to your talents). I just assumed that you had either die cut it or purchased it, (only wish I had your cutting skills)lol.
