Before I get to today's challenge I firstly want to say a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! to my little boy, Connor, who is 6 today (which I can't quite believe!!)xxx I'll share the card I made for him tomorrow as today it is time for another special monthly challenge at Just Magnolia!! This week we'd like you to use acetate in some way on your card/project!! Here is what I came up with.
Ahhh, bless, poor Edwin is sooooo in love with Tilda the mermaid that he's hooked himself to the ship's anchor to go see her LOL!! I thought that as soon as I saw these images from the new summer kit and this week's challenge was a perfect combination for the idea. I have created the card base from acetate and stamped around the edges with opaque white Stazon using the new year swirl from Magnolia.
I have coloured Edwin with copics and attached him to the front of the card.
Tilda and the seaweed images were also coloured with copics and I have covered Tilda's mermaid costume in stickles and also stickled strands of her hair and the bubbles around her. I have added a circle of Bo Bunny paper behind Tilda which I inked with faded jeans distress ink.
I used some torn strips of sand coloured cardstock at the bottom of the inside of the card for the sea bed and added three of the seaweed images from the summer kit. The bottom of the front of the card was cut with Tim Holtz scrollwork on the edge die. I have then added a star fish and some tiny shells to the scrollwork.
The back of the card was also stamped with the new year swirl stamp and I added a circle to write a message and I couldn't resist adding the cute little seahorse, again coloured with copics and stickled. I had such fun creating this card!!! I hope you like it and can join us this week atJust Magnolia!
