Simon Says Stamp & Show

As I'm sure you're aware by now Simon Says Stamp have started a sister challenge to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge called Simon Says Stamp & Show. The first challenge began this week and Heidi very generously sent the Simon Says Stamp Challenge DT some goodies to create something for the first challenge! The theme this week is Things with Wings so it was a perfect reason to use my new stamp, Melinda with Bouquet from Whiff of Joy. I decided to cover my diary I use for challenges. Here it is before.....

sooooo not my style but haven't found the time to cover it until now! Here it is now........

much better I think!! I covered the whole book in a K&Co paper which I tore into pieces and inked with walnut stain distress ink.

I coloured Melinda with distress inks and then covered the whole image with rock candy stickles.

I made the large metallic rose from grungepaper using Tim Holtz tattered florals dies. I covered the die cuts in mushroom dimensional pearls, using it like paint. When that was dry I stamped a Hero Arts text stamp over the top with walnut stain distress ink. The rest of the flowers are from my stash.

The swirls are punched with EK success punch and the butterflies with MS Monarch Butterfly punch.

This gorgeous Tim Holtz name plate was in my DT pack along with the metal corner. They're so gorgeous I'm going to have to buy the full set! I have written the label myself with my calligraphy pen.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x
