Simon Says Stamps Challenge DT - Punch it!

It is time for another Simon Says Stamp challenge where you have the chance to win a fabulous $25 spree in the Simon Says Stamp store courtesy of Heidi!

Something different from me today for our challenge at Simon Says Stamp - no coloured image!!!! Our challenge this week is Punch it and all the DT are showcasing Hero Arts stamps. I have used papers from MME La Paperie stack and distressed the edges with vintage photo distress ink.
I've kind of had this card in my mind for a long time. Ever since I bought the Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch and found that I just didn't think the flowers looked right on their own - they were crying out to be made into a hydrangea head to me!! I just love hydrangeas, and think they look best when they're starting to fade and go brown at the edges, but maybe that's just me because I like distressed things LOL.

I punched lots of the flowers from two different papers making sure I got a good variation of purples and then embossed them all for a more realistic look and inked the edges of them all with vintage photo distress ink.

The sentiment is also by Hero arts, from the same set as the flower stem and I added some small pink gems from Hero arts in the corner.

The butterfly is from the Antique Engravings set by Hero arts, stamped with smokey grey versafine ink.

I decorated the inside with just the stamps from the front and have written "on your anniversary" with my calligraphy pen.

I thought I'd share with you Kara's efforts at cardmaking!! I was really pleased with myself to have finished my card for this week's challenge super early and had put some finishing touches to it whilst making the tea.....popped upstairs.....popped back down and ARGH!!!!!!!! Kara had taken the grey inkpad and plonked it face down in the middle of my finished card.....Ooooooo I was soooooo not happy that I had to start the whole card again from scratch after all that work punching and inking all the flowers! I need locks for my craft desk!

Hope I've inspired you to join us this week at Simon Says Stamp's challenge. Pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the amazing cards my teamies have made! Thanks for looking! x

This card is fabulous, Jane, so delicate and feminine! It must have taken forever to punch and distress all those flowers and I can't imagine how you must have felt when you saw what happened to the first card! Oh the joys of motherhood!

Hi Jane
love your card, what a lot of work for you (especially as you had to do it twice)lol.
You have reminded me I need to start putting my copic's etc away, as I have my grandchildren coming to stay for a few days, they are a joy but you need to have eyes in the back of your head at times with them rotfl.
