Stempelglede Vintage Garden for Quixotic Paperie

A break from the Christmas cards today with a birthday card I made using the gorgeous Vintage Garden stamps from Stempelglede for Elaine at Quixotic Paperie! I used the sketch at Sketch Saturday for this card. The papers are from my stash and I'm afraid the name strip was missing. I've distressed the edges and inked them with vintage photo distress ink.

I have coloured the image with distress inks. It is such a lovely image to paint!!! I used antique linen, tea dye, victorian velvet, spiced marmalade, bundled sage, peeled paint and weathered wood.

Appart from the roses from Wild Orchid Crafts I didn't have any flowers that matched the image so I created this one to match the ones in the image with some Prima e line flowers and victorian velvet distress ink. The metal leaves are by Tim Holtz.

The sentiment is from the gorgeous Stempelglede Just a Note set, and I've inked around it with weathered wood distress ink. I added some lace and velvet ribbon from my stash and butterfly punched with Martha Stewart Monarch Butterfly punch.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! You can get both these and lots of other gorgeous Stempelglede sets from Quixotic Paperie. Elaine has more stocks arriving this week!! This also means I will soon have the stunning new set in my hands - can't wait!! x

Another preview of the stunning new Whiff of Joy images to be released on the 1st!!! My card today shows the images for their intended purpose of a New Year's card!! I've masked them all together for a party!!!!

The papers are from MME's Christmas glitter stack and I've used the Martha Stewart star border along the bottom edge of the paper.

hehehe!! I just love these all masked together, they look great don't they!?!? Looks like they're having a fabulous New Year celebration! I've coloured them all with copics and added a touch of stickles to parts of the accessories on the ladies! I've also added glossy accents to the champagne glass.

I used a Tim Holtz alphabet die to create the 2011 and the circular "eat, drink and be merry" stamp is from the new Whiff of Joy sentiments kit.

I added the punched out stars from the border around the image along with some sparkley plastic flowers, a Hero Arts flower and swirls cut with the romantic swirls die from Whiff of Joy.

Just Magnolia DT - Donalda's sketch

We have a gorgeous sketch from Donalda this week for you at Just Magnolia Challenge. I have made another Christmas card (no surprise there then LOL) as here was me thinking I must have enough now as I've been making them since September only to count up and find I am still 16 short!! ah!!! I have used more stunning Webster's Pages for this card - I just can't get enough of these papers - so scrummy! I've sewn the edges and distressed them too.

I have wanted this image since she was first sold selectively last year and was thrilled to finally find her in the new Christmas release!! She's just so beautiful!! I've coloured her with copics and added stickles to her wings and glossy accents to the violin as if there's one thing about violins it is that they are always so highly polished and beautiful! Unfortunately the snowy weather we're having meant I couldn't get the glossy accents to show on the photo but it looks stunning in real life!
I have used the christmas tree on the papers as a panel behind the image for extra interest and the swirls are the doo hickey swirl die which I've cut up to add it in separate places.

I cut the holly leaves from a part of the paper that has sheet music on it, they are a sizzix die. The ribbon is from my stash and the gems are from Hero Arts.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Just Magnolia! The rest of the team have created some stunning eye candy for you too! Hope you can pop and have a look! Thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - Second Preview!!

I have another gorgeous preview today from the new Whiff of Joy collection to be released on the 1st December!! I said yesterday that these images are versatile and here's an example of that! I instantly thought this New Year image would be fabulous on a wedding card!

I have used papers from the Basic Grey Cappella pad and the lace, ribbon and gems are from my stash. The gem swirls are from Prima. I used the Martha Stewart heart lace punch along the bottom of the image and I've sewn the image mat and the papers. I have used the gorgeous sketch at Sketch Saturday for my card.

Here's a close up of the image - aren't they a cute couple!?!?! I have coloured them with copics and added stickles to the bride's dress, necklace and hair ornaments.

I have used another of the gorgeous new sentiments from the new Whiff of Joy set also to be released on the 1st. I added a touch of champagne sparkle with some stickles.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! I have another preview for you tomorrow!!!

Tickled Pink Stamps DT - Sentiments preview

Gosh, it is a week for previews on my blog!! I have a Tickled Pink Stamps preview to share with you this afternoon. Kellie is releasing a gorgeous Christmas sentiment set and a die that matches the fancy shape in the sentiment set! I have used two of the sentiments on my gift tag.
I'm really pleased how this turned out. I started with a blank piece of card and of course printed Luca onto it but then around the edge I have embossed and stamped a scrummy Stempelglede stamp from the vintage Christmas collection and then inked around it - love how it looks and will definitely be doing that again!
Here's a close up of Luca - wouldn't you just like to give him a kiss under the mistletoe LOL!?!? I've also stamped a Tim Holtz ticket stamp next to Luca. I've used bundled sage distress ink for all the green stamping and inking.
The gorgeous flourish was cut with a sizzix holly and mistletoe swirl die and I added some large half pearls to represent the mistletoe berries. The "under the Mistletoe" is one of the sentiments from the kit and the gorgeous frame around it is also from the kit. (I've cut around the frame myself by the way, this is not the die as I didn't have it at the time of making this tag) - the die matches the frame much better than my cutting so ignore that bit LOL!

On the back of the tag I've used another sentiment from the kit - to and from - very handy for a Christmas tag! I've given the back of the tag the same treatment with the holly stamp and swirl and I also added a scrap of mistletoe paper by Magnolia to finish the look!

Here's a close up of the stamping and embossing with the vintage holly set from Stempelglede too.

Again, I'm afraid it's a hand cut job around the frame, not the matching die cut!!

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! Pop over to the Tickled Pink Stamps blog to see the rest of the gorgeous creations made with the sentiment set! x

Whiff of Joy DT - A fabulous preview!!

WOW!!!!!!!!!! That's what I thought when my DT package arrived from Whiff of Joy a couple of weeks ago!!!! I have the most amazing set of images to show you - a new style for Whiff of Joy by the amazing Alison Acton. They are on a New Year celebration theme but as I will show they are sooooo versatile which is great!!! I've used Katharina's sketch that she had on her blog for the guest designer call which ended yesterday.

The papers are from the new Magnolia Christmas papers and I've distressed the edges. I have cut the holly leaves with a sizzix die and the new Whiff of Joy die (smaller leaves) and the super gorgeous gem stone is from The Hobby House. The beads are from my stash.
Here's a close up of the image - isn't he stunning!?!?! and great for male birthday cards and all sorts of other occasions too! You can just about see I have added some glossy accents to the glass for a realistic look.
The sentiment is also to be released in December from Whiff of Joy - another WOW! this is from a set of 9 drink themed circular sentiments that come ready stored in a CD case!!! I've added glossy accents to the drinks glass here too but it isn't showing on the photo.
Hope you've enjoyed my first preview of these cuties!! I have more to show you tomorrow. They will be released on 1st December - perfect to put on your Christmas list!! Thanks for looking! x

Simon Says Stamp DT - Let it snow!!

Time for another challenge at Simon Says Stamp and this week our theme is Let it Snow!! Very appropriate for those of us in the UK as we're forcast snow for the end of the week - do hope so, I love it!! I went a little crazy for this challenge and have created an exploding box to give my children to have fun with in the run up to Christmas. When I was little we had a double LP (yes, one of those things before CD's LOL) with Christmas songs on and the album sleeve opened up to reveal the most amazing pop up scene you ever saw with a gingerbread Santa sweet shop, trees, the sleigh and reindeer - OMG I loved looking at it and this gave me the idea to make a somewhat small version for my children! So, when they lift the lid of their box here is what they'll find...........

A snow scene complete with "falling" snowflakes!! (OK they're suspended on acetate strips but I'm sure they won't mind!!
I used the gorgeous Tilda and Edwin skating stamp and coloured it with copics. I've added lots of stickles to Tilda's coat trims. They can skate around a full circle if you turn the little wheel you see at the front.
I have used the Magnolia forest stamp several times to create a snowy forest around the ice rink along with part of the open gate stamp by Magnolia. I have added lots of Martha Stewart glitter to the trees on tops of the fence. The "snow" is some white felt sprinkled with glitter and I've used some tiny pom poms for piles of snowballs.

You can turn Tilda and Edwin around on their ice rink using the little wheel therefore I had to fashion some sort of back for them. Don't look too close LOL my drawing isn't quite up to Pauline's standards LOL, plus the pen I used was a little too thick for drawing.

On the front panel I have used some Spellbinder Create a Flake 1 dies for the snowflakes and the Magnolia doo hickey tag and a sentiment from Magnolia stamped with distress ink and sprinkled with glitter before it dried.
I love this side of the box as it has some of the words to "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" on it - love that song it is soooo Christamssy! The papers are by Magnolia from last year's Christmas collection and I've used Tim Holtz snowflake on the edge die around the edges of the lid along with some lace from my stash.

I added some paper from MME's Christmas glitter stack to the lid along with a chiffon bow and some plastic snowflakes from my stash. Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Simon Says Stamp Challenge. Have a look at the rest of the teams stunning creations here! Thanks for looking! x

A Whimsy Carousel Horse meets Stempelglede for Quixotic Paperie

I have made another card featuring Stempelglede stamps for Elaine at Quixotic Paperie. I love using Stempelglede stamps with more vintage style images and this gorgeous Crissy Armstrong carousel horse from Whimsy Stamps is just perfect with them! I have used the gorgeous sketch at Truly scrumptious challenge for my card. Papers are by Magnolia. An unusual colour scheme for me but somehow this image just screamed sugar pinks at me LOL! Think I may even save this card for my little girls birthday as I love how it turned out!

I have coloured the horse with copics and added glossy accents to the pole and balloons and stickles here and there too. I have stamped the grunge corner from the Stempelglede Grunge collection with victorian velvet distress ink. The sentiment came with the carousel horse along with some others and I have stamped the splatter stamp from the Stempelglede set around the edge of the circle.

I have used Martha Stewart daisy edge punch along the edge and added a photo holder from my stash. When you undo it the image panel opens.....

.....to reveal another sentiment from the carousel horse set contained in this gorgeous ornate circle stamp from the Stempelglede set. The small satin bow is from my stash.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! The carousel horse stamp set and the Stempelglede Grunge set are both available from Quixotic Paperie! x
