This week at Magnolia Down Under Challenge our challenge is to make your own embellishments. You can make all of them or just one of them as long as there is an embellishment on your project that you've made yourself. I decided to make it difficult for myself by making my Dad's birthday card from the children - hmmm embellishments for men's cards LOL!! The papers are from Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby pad and I've distressed and sewn the edges.
I just HAD to use this gorgeous brotherly love image from Magnolia. Gosh, I preordered this and only got it last week!! Thank goodness it came in time to make this card as it just reminds me so much of how my two hug each other! I've coloured them with copics.
Right, onto my handmade embellishments! I didn't make the feather obviously but I did customise it! It started out plain white and I've tried to make it into a speckled kind of feather by spotting it with a copic so that it matched the card better.
I also made the lollipop flower and to make it less girly I added an eyelet to the centre. The swirl is a doo hickey die and the leaves are a Whiff of Joy die. The frame around the image is a MS punch around the page punch. The sentiments are some die cuts I've had in my stash for years!
