Simon Says Stamp DT - Let it snow!!

Time for another challenge at Simon Says Stamp and this week our theme is Let it Snow!! Very appropriate for those of us in the UK as we're forcast snow for the end of the week - do hope so, I love it!! I went a little crazy for this challenge and have created an exploding box to give my children to have fun with in the run up to Christmas. When I was little we had a double LP (yes, one of those things before CD's LOL) with Christmas songs on and the album sleeve opened up to reveal the most amazing pop up scene you ever saw with a gingerbread Santa sweet shop, trees, the sleigh and reindeer - OMG I loved looking at it and this gave me the idea to make a somewhat small version for my children! So, when they lift the lid of their box here is what they'll find...........

A snow scene complete with "falling" snowflakes!! (OK they're suspended on acetate strips but I'm sure they won't mind!!
I used the gorgeous Tilda and Edwin skating stamp and coloured it with copics. I've added lots of stickles to Tilda's coat trims. They can skate around a full circle if you turn the little wheel you see at the front.
I have used the Magnolia forest stamp several times to create a snowy forest around the ice rink along with part of the open gate stamp by Magnolia. I have added lots of Martha Stewart glitter to the trees on tops of the fence. The "snow" is some white felt sprinkled with glitter and I've used some tiny pom poms for piles of snowballs.

You can turn Tilda and Edwin around on their ice rink using the little wheel therefore I had to fashion some sort of back for them. Don't look too close LOL my drawing isn't quite up to Pauline's standards LOL, plus the pen I used was a little too thick for drawing.

On the front panel I have used some Spellbinder Create a Flake 1 dies for the snowflakes and the Magnolia doo hickey tag and a sentiment from Magnolia stamped with distress ink and sprinkled with glitter before it dried.
I love this side of the box as it has some of the words to "I'm dreaming of a white Christmas" on it - love that song it is soooo Christamssy! The papers are by Magnolia from last year's Christmas collection and I've used Tim Holtz snowflake on the edge die around the edges of the lid along with some lace from my stash.

I added some paper from MME's Christmas glitter stack to the lid along with a chiffon bow and some plastic snowflakes from my stash. Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Simon Says Stamp Challenge. Have a look at the rest of the teams stunning creations here! Thanks for looking! x

This is absolutely gorgeous! Jaw Dropping. You are extremely talented for making this all from scratch. I was wondering how the Tilda and Edwin would turn around if you didn't have the back stamped, but then you drew them yourself and they look great!
You've definately earned another follower!

Wow, Jane, what can I say. This is just about the most amazing thing I have ever seen before. I mean, really, you drew in and colored their backs. I can see why your kids would want to look at it over and over again. I can't stop looking at it. Those falling snowflakes are the most fab ever. What a wonderful idea. I think I could go on and on but I think that I will just go take another look again and dream of having that much talent! Have a wonderful day!
xoxo, Christine
