A Special hAnglar card!

Today I have a special card to show you. I was asked by a friend of my husband to create a special Christmas card for his wife - how romantic!!! I was unsure what to make at first, as I didn't want to disappoint. When asked for any hints the specification was "make it pretty"!!! I think I have succeeded on that point at least!

I have used Webster's Pages throughout the entire card for a very feminine look. I have added a chiffon bow together with a die cut snowflake using Whiff of Joy's snowflake die and some gorgeous metal snowflakes from The Hobby House. I just adore the butterfly adorned Christmas tree on this paper - oh I don't want to give this card away!!!

I have coloured my hAnglar angel with copics and added stickles to the bauble and her gorgeous wings.

When you first open the card there is a picture cut from the papers of a beautiful bird and I just loved the sentiment with it - perfect for a card to the one you love!

It says "I promise to provide you security and warmth through the holidays and forever after" - so beautiful!

The card opens fully like so and there is a hidden pull out section for a private message!

The first panel is simply decorated with some gold chiffon ribbon and snowflakes cut with the Whiff of Joy snowflakes die. They have been inked on the edges with antique linen distress ink and sprayed with gold cosmic shimmer. I have also added a Merry Christmas sentiment from Magnolia.
On the centre panel I've introduced a different paper, again from Webster's Pages and added a panel with a flower, snowflake and heart charm.

The last panel has again been decorated with the scraps from the rest of the card and I have stamped the Christmas text stamp from Magnolia with a mixture of vintage photo and walnut stain for a more distressed look.

The card wouldn't fit into a regular envelope so I made a box for it. Usually I make white boxes but I'm out of white card and couldn't face a trip to get some with all the thick ice we have at the moment. The only card large enough was this very dark pearlised card, so I embossed it with some Magnolia snowflakes to pretty it up and I have to say I really love it!
I also made a little paper ribbon to keep the card flat in the box until it is opened.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Oh Jane how gorgeous and special is this.

I am sure the recipient will be over the moon with it.

As you say very romantic and very special both inside and out. So much gorgeous detail.

I think your box looks brilliant not in white .. .. it looks extra special with the lovely embossing .. .. and then the finishing touch - the paper ribbon.

Just perfect!!

Thank you for sharing and for the inspiration. It must have taken a lifetime to make.

Love Jules xx

This is the most stunning Christmas card I've seen this year Jane. So lovely it takes your breath away. Whoever receives it is a very lucky lady. Just spotted your 'modern' Christmas tree post. Love what you've done with the branches and the bauble you made is magnifique. A wonderful family heirloom to pass on through the years, so definitely worth the effort! xxx

i think this is my most favorite card i've seen yet. again, your work is just amazing! i can "copy" and get inspiration from others but i lack the 'aha' moments to think of such beautiful things.

i'd really love to know what you charge for these (you can email me privately if you'd like - tgw2 at cox dot net).

i should clarify... i don't copy directly. i only use something as a rough idea and then totally make what i do my own. besides, i'm really not talented enough to directly copy something exactly.
