This week at Simon Says Stamps challenge we have a gorgeous sketch by Domi to play with! The DT are showcasing Crafters Companion stamps this week. You don't need a Crafters Companion stamp to join in but if you have any we'd love to see them on your creations!! As always we are sponsored by Heidi with a fabulous prize of a $50 voucher for the Simon Says Stamp store!!! We also have some exciting news this week....we have a new teamie, Tara from Inking on the Edge!!! I'm sure you will already be familiar with her stunning cards but if not be sure to check out her blog!
I decided to use the sketch to make a joy fold card. The papers are all by Magnolia and I've distressed them with my Tim Holtz distressing tool and stickles. How cute is this S.W.A.L.K image from Crafters Companion??? She reminds me a little of those "love is...." characters that were around when I was little - can anyone remember them??? They were on anything and everything - I remember I had a little mirror with them on! Funny the things we remember from childhood isn't it!?
Here's a close up of the image. Isn't she sweet!?!? I've coloured her with copics and added stickles to the butterflies.
Here is the card when it is opened up. I'm afraid it is unfinished. The red panel you can see on the right is going to have a Magnolia stamp on it of a heart with text behind it but although I ordered it two weeks ago it hasn't arrived in time :(. At least it should be here before valentine's day!
On the small panel I added some chipboard hearts from my stash that I have painted with pickett fence crackle paint which I inked with victorian velvet distress ink once dry. The ticket is, of course, by Tim Holtz and I added some gems from my stash. The lace border was cut with Magnolia swedish lace doo hickey.
The centre panel I have left for a message to be written. The Love corner stamp was in the Magnolia winter kit, stamped with victorian velvet distress ink.
Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Simon Says Stamp! Pop over to the challenge blog for a peep at the rest of the team's stunning creations! Thanks for looking! x
