Simon Says Stamps Challenge DT - New Beginnings

My second post of the day!! It is time for another challenge at Simon Says Stamps challenge and starting from this challenge the generous Heidi is offering a $50 vourcher for the Simon Says Stamp store!!! How amazing is that for a prize??? This will be our prize every week!!! Thank you Heidi!!

Our challenge this week is "New Beginnings". This could be a new baby, new home, new job or even new year!! I must say it was so nice to be able to do a pink girly card after all the Christmas cards!! This is a possible card for my cousin. She is expecting a baby soon but we do not know if it is a boy or a girl so I thought I'd get ahead and make one of each LOL!! I had the idea for this card for a while now. I thought it would be lovely to make a card with Tilda blowing bubbles over the sleeping baby! It also meant I could make an acetate card which I love doing!! The card base is acetate and I have stamped the new years swirl from Magnolia around the edge with white stazon. Bubbling Tilda was coloured with copics and cut out. I also stamped her with white stazon onto the acetate so that I had the bubbles on the acetate. I have then covered the bubbles with stickles. I think you can just see the bubbles on this photo!

I added a tulle bow together with some Prima flowers and basic grey buttons from my stash directly onto the acetate front.

To make the card neat from all angles I glued Bubbling Tilda to a piece of patterned paper before I cut her out so that the back of her looks pretty too.
Underneath the acetate is the sweet sleeping baby from Magnolia. I have followed the gorgeous sketch from The Sweet Stop for the layout. Most of the papers are by Magnolia and i have sewn them and inked with victorian velvet distress ink. The lace border is a doo hickey die and the crumpled ribbon and doiley are from my stash.

On the back of the card i added some more Magnolia paper and the sentimnt is from Whiff of Joy's baby sentiments collection.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Simon Say Stamps challenge! Thanks for looking! x
