Magnolia Down Under Challenge DT - No Designer Paper - Make your own! - and new candy winner!!!

Phew! Now this is a challenge if ever there was one!! Our challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenge this week is No designer paper! You have to make your own!! At first I thought yikes, despite having made my own paper a few times before, and then I ended up with so many ideas I couldn't decide which one to do LOL! I created my paper using some Ranger Glossy cardstock. I stamped a super gorgeous Tim Holtz flourish with faded jeans distress ink and then stamped a Claudine Helmuth foam stamp (the dotty pattern) several times in bundled sage distress ink. I then inked around the edges of the paper with faded jeans distress ink and sanded the glossy cardstock in a few places for a scratched effect - it lifts off the distress ink leaving white scratched areas! The only drawback with my own paper was that the cardstock was quite thick so I didn't dare use my sewing machine around the edges!
I coloured the gorgeous Edwin with butterfly using copics onto pearlescent cardstock and created a cloudy sky background behind him with distress ink.

I added a selection of flowers from my stash along with a Basic Grey button and some leaves cut with a doohickey die. The yellow roses and small pearl flowers are from The Hobby House.

The cute little tag is from Whiff of Joy and I stamped a Hero Arts sentiment onto it. You can see the scratched effect just above the tag on this photo!

Hope you like my card and my handmade paper and I've inspired you to get creative with us at Magnolia Down Under Challenge this week! Pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the team's amazing cards and handmade papers - they are truly stunning! Thanks for looking! x

Remember the Magnolia Down Under Challenge birthday blog hop?? My prize is still unclaimed therefore I've drawn another winner :)
