Simon Says Stamps Challenge DT - Paper Piecing or piercing

WOW! Thank you for the fantastic response to our 2nd anniversary challenge and blog hop!

This week we are sponsored, as always by the super generous Heidi with a $50 credit voucher for the Simon Says Stamp store and our challenge is Paper piecing or Paper piercing - you chose which! I have gone for the paper piecing option.

I decided to make a door hanger for the bathroom with this cute "Lather, Rinse, Repeat" image from My Favourite Things. I used Prima Annalee papers and I've paper pieced her shower cap! The plaque was cut from very thick packing card I'd saved (I'm such a hoarder LOL) and I've inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink. I also painted some Picket Fence crackle paint around the edges of the larger plaque.

I coloured the image with copics and I've added glossy accents to the bath so it looks enamelled and stickles to the bubbles.

I added lots of flowers from my stash, the large white daisies are by Prima as is the gorgeous large white blossom and the butterfly. The metal flower is by Tim Holtz.

On the other side I added another Tim Holtz metal flower along with some more Prima e-line flowers (I added my own stamens) and some gorgeous Prima hydrangeas.

As I couldn't fit "bathroom" around the image I decided to make another plaque to hang from the first. The letters were cut with Tim Holtz' vintage market die and I've added gold liquid pearl dots to each one. I attached the two plaques together with some of Tim's amazing ball chain - this stuff is brilliant!! Must get some more!

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Simon Says Stamps challenge! Pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the team's amazing paper piecing projects! Thanks for looking! x
