Magnolia Down Under Challenge DT - Karen's Sketch

Woohoo!! It's my birthday today!! Happy Birthday to me LOL!!! Of course, it is also time for another fabulous challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenges and this week our lovely and super talented Karen has designed the most gorgeous sketch for us to use!!! Thanks hun I LOVED working with it!! You can tell I loved it so much from my card I think, as I just love todays card and to be honest I haven't been feeling that for a lot of my cards just lately! LOL it's funny, I've used some papers from the Prima Annalee paper pad that I didn't like (there are always a couple in each pad aren't there) and now I've used them all I think I've fallen for them and want to buy another pad LOL!!! I distressed all the edges and inked them with walnut stain distress ink. I am also going to enter my card into the Copic Creations challenge who would like to see pink copic colouring.

Here's another view that seemed to capture all the different glittered areas better. I went a bit stickles crazy on this card and have even glittered inside the heart shaped holes of the border punch!

I love this Tilda, I think she is one of my all time favourites! I've coloured her with copics and add stickles to some of the hearts and the lace on her dress.

I got a new die last week - one I've wanted for a long time - the Tim Holtz hardware findings die
- and have used both the key and the lock on my card. I painted them both with pickett fence crackle paint and inked the edges with walnut stain distress ink. The little blossom flower is by Prima and I created the other two roses with a sizzix die and some pink flower stamens from my stash. The chipboard heart I covered with some of the Prima paper and the pins are from my stash.

I used the Martha Stewart heart lace punch for the border and as I already said, stickled inside the heart cut outs. The gorgeous lock is fastened with some brass coloured brads to the card and is actually keeping the card closed - the little "belt" underneath it slides out to open the card.

I used Whiff of Joy's pennants die for the banner and some dovecraft stickers for the I and U. The heart is from The Hobby House.

When you undo the lock and belt fastening this is the inside. I used another gorgeous Magnolia stamp, I think it's called heart text, on the inside and paper pieced and stickled the heart.

On the other side of the inside panel there is a little pocket and a tag.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at Magnolia Down Under Challenges! Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations! Thanks for looking! x
