Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge DT - Buttons, Bows and Bling

Woohoo! Are you all getting ready to watch the Royal Wedding?? Not sure how much I'll actually get to watch as I should think the kids will get bored but I'm definitely tuning in!! Of course, it's not just Royal Wedding day today, it is also time for another challenge at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar and this week we'd like you to use buttons, bows and bling. You can use any or all of them. I've had the idea for this easel card floating around in my head since I got this "Beautiful Tilda" and finally sat down to create it last weekend. I drew the tiered butterfly shape myself for the top part of the easel card and it is mounted onto an acetate oval so that it looks like it is holding up itself!

I've coloured Tilda with copics and added lots of stickles to her wings and dress. I added a tuft of grass using a Whiff of Joy die and a Martha Stewart butterfly so that Tilda is sitting amongst the flowers in the garden.

The first butterfly is covered with lilac butterfly paper from Magnolia and I added a butterfly cut with a doohickey die and covered it in stickles. The edges of all the butterflies have been painted with picket fence crackle paint and inked with walnut stain distress ink - oh and stickled too LOL. The gems are by Hero Arts.

The second butterfly is covered with the pink butterfly paper from Magnolia and I added a tulle bow and a single pearl to this one. The smallest butterfly is topped with a butterfly from the corner punch of the Martha Stewart PATP set.

Tilda's garden was created with oval nesties and I added a tag with sentiment which I think is Whiff of Joy. I added a doohickey swirl and lots of doohickey rose leaves. The ribbon is from Really Reasonable Ribbons and the roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The rest of the flowers are from my stash.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar! Pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations! Thanks for looking! x

To be in with a chance to win the prizes you must enter the challenge and comment on all the blogs in the hop!

The challenge this week is Anything goes!

As it's a special occasion I decided to make a gift box and matching card. I copied the shape of the gift box from one I bought recently that had smellies in it - it was surprisingly easy! Mine is made from pearlescent cardstock and the papers are by 7 Gypsies. Simon Says Stamp has lots of 7 Gypsies items here. All the edges were sewn and inked with walnut stain distress ink.

Here's a closer look at my gift box. I have added swirls cut with Tim Holtz elegant flourishes die and rose leaves cut with a doohickey die. The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch and the roses were created with Sizzix 3D flower die. I added some pearls to the centres. The gorgeous large silk flower is by Prima.

I love the shaping on the top of the box.

Simply untie the bow and it opens up like so!

On two of the other sides I have used more swirls and 3D roses along with a flower I created using 3 scalloped circle nesties crumpled and secured with a Whiff of Joy brad.

On the back I created a little envelope from some of the paper to hold a gift card. The lace is cut with another Magnolia doohickey die and I added more rose leaves and another 3D rose.

Inside the envelope is a gift card with the oh so teeny tiny mini Secretive Tilda! I love this image full size so just HAD to get her in miniature too! I've coloured her with copics.

Here she is in full size on the matching card! Coloured to match her mini self and I've repeated the theme of butterflies and 3D roses here too. The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy.

Again I've coloured her with copics and cut the bottom of the image with the Tilda's lace doohickey.

If you've made it all the way to the end of this post, you may need a cuppa LOL and thank you for reading it all! Hope you like my creations and I've inspired you to join in the challenge! Now it is time to hop on over to the talented Heather's blog to see her gorgeous creation! Thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy Challenge DT - My sketch

Woohoo!! Time for another challenge at Whiff of Joy Challenges and this week we have a sketch by yours truly!! I was asked by a friend to make a Christening card in yellows and spring colours and Willow with her little baby is just perfect for the job don't you think!? The papers are from MME's La Paperie stack and I've sewn the edges and inked them with crushed olive distress ink. I am entering my card into Bearly Mine challenge too as their theme is Beautiful Babies.

I've coloured the image with copics and added some gold liquid pearls to the flowers in Willow's hair and the buttons on her dress.

I created the sentiment on the computer and cut it out with a Whiff of Joy die. The butterflies are from a Martha Stewart punch and the swirls are a Magnolia doohickey.

I added a selection of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and the large blossom is by Prima. There is a silver heart charm just peeping out from under the bow too.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this fortnight at Whiff of Joy challenge. Pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the teams incredible cards - you won't be disappointed! Thanks for looking! x

Another hAnglar for Easter

As promised here is the Easter card I made for my little boy to match the one I showed on Saturday. They are very similar so that they could sit side by side on the mantlepiece :). Again I used a scrap of paper from my stash and created some paper lace using Martha Stewart doily lace punch.

I coloured the little hAnglar Easter boy with Prismacolor pencils along with the separate basket stamp.

I couldn't resist adding a cute little Easter Bunny. The stamp is from the Magnolia spring kit which I've stamped and embossed with white embossing powder. I added a tiny white pompom for the tail. The fence was cut with Magnolia's doohickey die and the ribbon and button are from my stash.

Another view :).

Tickled Pink Stamps DT - sponsoring Sketchy Colors challenge

Woohoo!! After a bit of a mojo crisis the past couple of weeks I actually LOVE my card today!!! :). Tickled Pink Stamps is sponsoring Sketchy Colors throughout April and some of the Pink Ladies decided to play along :). The challenge is a gorgeous colour combination of blue, beige and white - scrummy!! I used some paper from Prima's Botanical paper pad - so gorgeous - along with some kraft cardstock. All the papers have been distressed and inked with walnut stain distress ink.

I coloured up the gorgeous 30's Lylah - think she has to be my favourite Tickled Pink stamp - just love her coat and hat! I've coloured her with copics and added some lace down the side of the image from my stash. The stamp is torn from one of the backing papers and inked with antique linen distress ink. The butterfly is a Martha Stewart punch and the tiny flower is from my stash.

I added a selection of blooms from my stash - they're possibly all from Wild Orchid Crafts but I'm not entirely sure as some of them were gifts from lovely friends. The leaves were a gift too. I added a double bow with some white chiffon ribbon and a couple of pins from Whiff of Joy.

I used Magnolia's lace doohickey die to create the lacey border from kraft cardstock and the large butterfly was punched with a Martha Stewart punch.

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! Enjoy your Easter Sunday! x

Magnolia Down Under Challenge DT - Kylie's Sketch

Phew! Two posts in one day! Busy, busy, busy!!! It is time for another challenge over at Magnolia Down Under Challenge and this week we have a stunning sketch by the super talented Kylie! I have used papers from MME's Gertie paper pad and distressed them all with my paper distresser and walnut stain distress ink.

I have coloured my cute Magnolia twins with Prismacolor pencils. Not sure I'm entirely happy with it but can't put my finger on why - oh well too late now :).

I have added a selection of flowers from my stash. The large one is by Prima and the others are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The rose leaves are a Magnolia doohickey die. I have used Martha Stewart double loops punch along the bottom edge. The gorgeous beaded twigs were a gift.

I cut a tag from some of the cardstock with Magnolia's tag doohickey and threaded it with a scrap of the ribbon and a ribbon slider - both from The Hobby House. The tag tucks behind the image.
Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Happy Easter!

Hope you're all having a fabulous Easter Weekend! I wanted to share with you the Easter card I made for my little girl (I made one for my little boy too of course, I'll share that on Monday). I loved the Easter card my lovely friend Kylie created recently and this was my inspiration for these cards (thanks hun x). I used a scrap of paper from my stash and inked it with walnut stain distress ink. I then used my Martha Stewart doily lace punch to create some paper lace for around the edges.

I coloured my hAnglar Easter girl with Prismacolor pencils. The basket is a separate stamp which comes with the little hands on so you can add it to other images - such a cute idea! I've added some stickles to some of the Easter eggs.

I added some gingham ribbon from my stash along with some Wild Orchid Craft roses and a crochet flower from The Hobby House. The leaves are a Woodware punch and the butterflies are Martha Stewart punches. The Happy Easter text was also in the Easter kit from hAnglar and sTanglar.

Another view - I couldn't decide which photo to use :).

Hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar DT - Dena's Sketch

Happy Easter everyone! It is time for another challenge at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and this week we have a gorgeous sketch by Dena.

I've coloured my sweet little hAnglar boy with copics and added a touch of stickles to the puddle and splashes around his feet.

I added a selection of flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts along with a rose I made with Sizzix 3D flower die. The brad in the centre of the rose is from The Hobby House. The chipboard heart (behind the rose buds) is from Hobby Craft and I've covered it in picket fence crackle paint.

This card was a commission for a little boy to give his Mummy so I have created a text on the computer, cut out with a fancy tag nestie.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge. Thanks for looking and enjoy the Easter weekend! x

Simon Says Stamp Challenge DT - Embossing

Woohoo! Time for another challenge at Simon Says Stamps challenge and as always we are sponsored by our lovely generous Heidi with a $50 credit voucher for the Simon Says Stamp store!!
This week our challenge is embossing - heat or dry - it's up to you. All the team are showcasing Belles n Whistles stamps this week except myself - there's always one isn't there!?

As you can see I've used this gorgeous Ribbon Hair Tilda - she's one of my favourites at the moment - so sweet! The papers I've used are from Tim Holtz Vintage Shabby collection which I've distressed with Tim's paper distressing tool.

Here's a close up of the sweet Tilda. I've coloured her with my Prismacolor pencils again - getting the hang of them now I think, although this is my third attempt at her - the others were binned LOL. I've stickled the lower part of her gorgeous dress for some sparkly party attire :)! I've sat her on some gorgeous pink gingham ribbon from my stash.

I have embossed some pearlescent white cardstock with a Tim Holtz embossing plate. The flower was created Magnolia Doohickey Peony dies and I added some gems to the centre to resemble the flower Tilda is holding. The gorgeous leaves are another Doohickey die and so is the swirl.

The butterflies are from Martha Stewart punches.

Hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Simon Says Stamps challenge. Pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations! Thanks for looking! x
