Whiff of Joy DT - Pink and Pearls

Woohoo!! It is time for a new challenge at Whiff of Joy challenges and we also have our new team mates, Julie, Durvina, Dunja and Karina playing along for the first time too! Our challenge this fortnight is a gorgeous combination - pink and pearls - perfect for each other and great for using the gorgeous new princess images from the Whiff of Joy autumn stamp kit!! I have used two of the new images to create a name plate for my daughter's bedroom door.

In this picture you can see the hanger I created. As it is me who has to gloss paint the doors in our house I really don't like the idea of sticking things on them that might cause them to be repainted LOL so I devised this hanging system which means I can simply put a drawing pin in the end of the length of ribbon on the very top part of the door where noone can see any damage it might cause! The gorgeous chiffon ruffle edged ribbon is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop.
I just adore all the images in this new kit, this one is Rose Princess and I've teamed her with the gorgeous rose trellis to create a little scene. I've coloured the images with copics. The gorgeous princess crown paper is by Magnolia.
I added some little butterflies to flutter around the garden and added some liquid pearls to the very top parts of the rose trellis.
I have added lots of gorgeous roses from my stash along with leaves cut with Magnolia's rose leaf doohickey. I couldn't resist adding a cute little Maya Road chipboard bird which I've painted with white acrylic paint and inked the edges with victorian velvet distress ink. I then added a tiny little black pearl for the eye.
Here's a close up of the little bird - isn't it cute!?
On the other side of the frame I added some more roses and leaves.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this fortnight at Whiff of Joy challenge. Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning pink and pearl creations! Thanks for looking! x

Tickled Pink Stamps DT - Victorian Lylah

Woohoo!! Tickled Pink Stamps is sponsoring Creative Inspirations this week and to celebrate some of the Pink Ladies have joined in with the gorgeous Creative Inspirations sketch! I have used the gorgeous Lil Victorian Steampunk Lolita Lylah and papers from Prima's Botanical paper pad.

I have coloured Lylah with copics and inked around her with antique linen and walnut stain distress inks. The pearls are from Whiff of Joy.

I made the rose from a book page with sizzix 3D flower die and the butterfly was punched with a Martha Stewart punch. The pin, ribbon and button are from my stash.

I have added another Martha Stewart punched butterfly on the other side along with a feather and a doily.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join in the Creative Inspirations challenge too! Thanks for looking! x

Magnolia Down Under Challenge DT - Texture

Woohooo!! Time for another challenge at Magnolia Down Under Challenges and this week our challenge is to add texture to your card - this could be corrugated card, felt, feathers - here are lots of ways to add texture! I have used some scrummy Magnolia papers for my card, inked with walnut stain distress ink.
I had to have a go at the no lines technique with a Tilda and I must say I really love this one - getting much better at it! I think Tilda is just perfect for this kind of colouring because she just looks sweet and delicate anyway so this style of colouring makes her even sweeter! I have coloured her with copics.
I added my texture in the form of some corrugated cardstock - actually a recycled coffee cup holder! which I have painted with pickett fence crackle paint. The flowers are from my stash and the leaves were cut with a doohickey die. I added a tulle bow and some lace too.
The gorgeous sentiment is by Stempelglede from the Just a Note set, stamped onto a doohickey tag die cut which I also painted with crackle paint.
I added a button from my stash and the twine is from The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Magnolia Down Under Challenge. Pop over to the challenge blog to see the rest of the team's stunning creations! Thanks for looking! x

Sundays With Crissy DT - K.I.S.S!!!!

Woohoo!! I have been bursting to tell my news today!! The lovely and talented Crissy asked if I would like to join her Sundays with Crissy design team!!! Well I didn't have to think long about that, I can tell you!! Of course I said yes instantly and am so thrilled to be able to finally share my first card with you. The theme over at the Sundays With Crissy challenge blog this month is K.I.S.S. - Keep it simple stamper - and here is my take on the challenge. If you're a regular reader you will know that I don't usually do clean and simple cards - far from it! - so this was a true challenge for me but I love the clean look of my card, even though it was very hard to resist adding more and more to it!

I have used Crissy's gorgeous image Rose Butterfly from Whimsy Stamps - this is so beautiful and reminds me of William Morris style papers - which was the inspiration for the colours I have used on the image. I printed the butterfly direcly onto the kraft paper and coloured it with Prismacolor pencils. I also printed it a second time so that I could cut out the top wings to add some dimension to the image.

I created the sentiment on the computer and added some gems from The Hobby House to represent the flight path of the butterfly. The border along the bottom is a Martha Stewart punch (I just couldn't resist LOL) and I added some faux stitching with a black fine liner pen and the white line with a Prismacolor pencil. Then I had to sit on my hands for a long time to prevent me from adding any more doodling or embellishments LOL!

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us at Sundays with Crissy!! There are still a few more days left to join in and there is a fabulous prize up for grabs!! Thanks for looking! x

Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge DT - Bingo! and TOMIC

Friday again already!! I can't believe how fast the weeks of the summer holiday are flying by!! Soon it will be time to go back to school :( -next week is my son's last full week off! It is time for another challenge at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar and this week Donalda has set our challenge of Bingo! I hardly ever seem to find the time to join in with the TOMIC challenge, much to my dismay, and I was determined to do so this week and so I have altered this cotton bud container so that I can enter the TOMIC challenge as they would like to see us recycle something!!

I think I might alter more of these! They're so cute and very handy for all sorts of bits and bobs and will look great on the shelves of my craft room! I have used Magnolia papers to cover the container.

I coloured Tilda with copics and added some stickles to her wings and the heart ornament and then I've popped her onto the doohickey tag.

I went crazy with my flower stash and added lots of gorgeous blooms in various shades of purple along with some blue and pink ones to lift it. The leaves were cut with the rose leaf doohickey.

I added a butterfly to the largest flower which was punched with a Martha Stewart punch and then stickled.

I used the lace doohiockey die all around the paper for the lid and the gorgeous gingham ruffle ribbon was a gift from my gorgeous friend Louise! I have added lots of butterflies punched with a Martha Stewart punch around the sides of the pot and gems around the lid.

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Just Magnolia and hAnglar & sTanglar challenge! Pop over to the challenge blog to see the stunning creations from the rest of the team! Thanks for looking! x

Whiff of Joy DT - Autumn Kit singles!

Woohoo!! At long last it is time to share the Whiff of Joy autumn kit images with you all! If you didn't get hold of the kit you will be pleased to know that the images will be released as single stamps on 1st September!! Every stamp is just so gorgeous in this kit - I love them all!! I am making something special with some of the images and I haven't got all the things I need just yet so I'm afraid they will have to wait until next week.

How gorgeous is this mermaid!?!? Love all her flowing hair and gorgeous fish tail! I've coloured her with copics and added stickles to her tail and the starfish in her hair. I also added a trace of stickles to the water ripples. I've inked around the image with bundled sage distress ink and added a couple of gems from my stash.

The white flowers were created with one of Whiff of Joy's new flower dies and the large brad is from Whiff of Joy too. The book page rose was made with Sizzix 3D flower die and I added a gem to the centre. The blue roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. I used the Whiff of Joy Romantic swirls 2 die to resemble seaweed around the flowers.
The fabulous sentiment is in the Autumn kit too - there are some gorgeous girly princess sentiments to match the images.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking! Don't forget these will be available on 1st September if you missed out on the full kit! x

Crafts and Me Challenge DT - Lace

Woohoo! It is time for another digi team challenge at Crafts and Me Challenge and this week we'd like you to use lace on your projects! I have wanted to finish creating my season's set of wall plaques but have been unable to buy the same size canvas so far - typical!! I decided, therefore, to create the paper section to add to the canvas when I eventually get it! I have used the stunning Dusk from Crafts and Me for this spring plaque - with the little rabbits she's just perfect for it!
I wanted a fresh spring feel to this plaque but it still had to tie in with the others I've already created and so I have gone for pastel spring colours. The gorgeous paper is by Girl's Paperie. I have coloured the image with copics and added stickles to her wings. The gorgeous lace is from my stash. The sentiment is from a hAnglar & sTanglar kit and I've covered it in glossy accents.

I added lots of beautiful flowers from my stash - the pink lily is by Magnolia, as is the tulip and the glittery flower is by Prima.

More Magnolia and Prima flowers adorn the top corner.

The butterflies are by Prima too - just love these!

I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this week at Crafts and Me! Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's gorgeous lacey creations! Thanks for looking! x

Magnolia Ink Contest Entry

Today I am sharing the other creation that I sent to Sweden to enter the Magnolia Ink competition to be on the cover of the current issue. I used Magnolia papers throughout. This was the only stamp I had that fit the Chocolate/Candy theme in any way.

I coloured the peppermint cane with copics and then added glossy accents to it so that it looked more realistic.

You can see just how delicious and glossy it looks in the photo above!

I wanted some form of candy embellishments and so came up with the idea of covering buttons with some celophane wrapping so that they looked like little sweets! The lace die cut is Tilda's Lace doohickey.

The sentiment is from Whiff of Joy, stamped with Victorian Velvet distress ink and I added a lace bow and a rose from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I added a selection of flowers from my stash along with some doohickey die leaves. The butterflies were punched with a Martha Stewart punch and the pearl brad is from Whiff of Joy.

I hope you like it and thanks for looking! x

Magnolia Ink contest - I have been published!!

Woohoo!! I was so excited over the weekend to discover I have been published in the latest issue of Magnolia Ink with one of my entries to their cover competition!! So, I thought I would share the whole project with you now as it no longer needs to be a secret. Magnolia Ink only published the ice cream part of my gift set too so I wanted to show you the rest of it. The ice cream cone is a little gift cone to hold some sweets. I was so pleased how this turned out and am thrilled that they chose to publish a picture of it! The cone started out life as some kraft cardstock which I have scored and inked before making into the cone shape.

The ice cream is lots of lush satin ribbon and I created the flake from cardstock.

I have used mini Jam Tilda on the doohickey tag, coloured with copics and the sentiment is from Whiff of Joy. The flower is from Magnolia and the ribbon is from my stash.

Sorry, I took lots of photos before I sent it to Sweden - such a shame they don't send things back! Maybe they will have it on display in the shop!?!? that would be so exciting for me!

The top of the ice cream is hinged so that you can place the sweets inside and I added my personal stamp on the underneath.

The matching gift card is a glass bowl of ice cream :). I used the same mini image and sentiment as the ice cream cone, and the same ribbon and flower so that they match perfectly.

It was difficult to get a good photo but I think you can just about see that I embossed the acetate to look like an engraved glass bowl.

I also cut the edge of the "bowl" with the Tilda's lace doohickey die for a fancy edge.

I love these flowers by Magnolia, they're so pretty with the tulle layer.

The wafer was created in the same way as the ice cream cone and is actually a little pull out card to write your message!

I stamped my personal stamp on the back of the "strawberry ice cream"! I hope you like both my creations and thanks for looking! x
