Whiff of Joy Challenge DT - Paper Piecing

Woohoo!!!  It is time for another challenge at Whiff of Joy challenge and this fortnight our challenge is paper piecing!  I love paper piecing don't you!?  Although I always seem to forget about it lol - but it does look really lovely!  I've mostly used papers from Prima's Botanical paper pad - such pretty colours.  The lilac stripe paper is a scrap from my stash without a name on.  I have used Chelsea's gorgeous sketch at Crafting Life's Pieces challenge for my layout.
I've used the gorgeous Kneeling Willow for my card.  She is on special offer at Whiff of Joy right now and when she's gone she's completely gone so if you love her be sure to get there quick!  So, her skin and hair is coloured with copics, and the flower and grass meadow around her and the rest is paper pieced.  I've added a little bit of detail to the paper piecing too - more about that later.
The flowers are from my stash and I've added a glass pebble backed with the soft green paper.  The lace is from my stash and the gems are from Whiff of Joy.  I've used a Martha Stewart punch for the leaves.
The gorgeous plaster scroll is from Panduro Hobby - my last one (sniff) - I need to get some more!!
So, here's a closer look at my paper piecing.  I always add shading with grey copics so that the image still has the same dimension it would if you had coloured it.  On this occasion I have also coloured the tassle trim on her apron to make it stand out and I have coloured the petals of the flowers on her sleeves and dress with a white gel pen to make them stand out a little more.
I hope you like it and I've inspired you to join us this fortnight at Whiff of Joy!!  Pop over to the blog to see the rest of the team's stunning paper piecing projects!  Thanks for looking! x
