Reflection Tutorial

Morning!!  Wow!!  Thank you all for your wonderfully kind comments on my card yesterday, I was so thrilled to read them!   I had quite a few questions asking how I created the reflection on yesterday's card so I have a little tutorial for you today showing you how I did it.  It really is super easy as you will see!!  Apologies for the dreadful night time photos!

First, stamp your chosen image in the usual way.

Next, stamp your image again onto some type of acetate/plastic.  I have stamped mine onto my Stamp-a-ma-jig from Stampin' Up but I should think you could also use a piece of acetate or the type of clear plastic you get from die packaging for example.  It is also a good idea to use a lighter ink than the true image to add to the realism of the reflection.  I've used a grey instead of my usual cocoa.

Now, very carefully, flip the acetate/plastic with the stamped image over and line it up where you want the reflection to be and carefully place it onto the paper to make sure you don't smudge it.

Press down onto the acetate making sure you don't move it and then carefully lift if away from the paper.  Make sure you press down onto all the areas of the image thoroughly!

Et voila!! your image and it's reflection ready to colour.  She's not quite straight in this little sample but I'm sure you get the idea!!  The colouring is a little more tricky than the stamping as you will of course need to make sure that all your shadows etc are reflected from the true image!  To give the reflection a more realistic look I used every colour a shade lighter than on the true image too.

I hope that has helped and thanks for looking! x
